[on a deserted patch of land in the middle of nowhere]
in the middle of the blue ocean of the new world sits a patch of sand, a meeting is said to be taking place there. The myriad of ships opposite of each other and the two figures sitting at the table surrounded by their surbodinates. It is the meeting of the yonkou Anubis and the firecloak emperor. However unknown to their followers the real meeting was happening in Grove on an island nearby.

[unknown Grove]

As Anubis sat down under a tree he awaited her arrival. Realising the rouse they had orchestrated would not last forever. Anubis had placed his commander Ryan in charge of that affair but even then he was not too sure. Anubis looked up at the sky his vision obstructed by the trees as he simply chuckled to himself for a while. Anubis was not wearing anything too extravagant today. It was mainly his old dessert garb he used to wear when he was a fugitive on the run. A screech was made as Anubis pet hawk King landed in his arm where Anubis was wearing a brace. He adjusted his head scarf before petting King. As much as waitibg for someone was not something he liked, at the same time he could appreciate the calm and tranquil of this place. He could appreciate it more so than having to deal with the day to day duties he was being accustomed to lately, but soon that would change, he grinned to himself under the shade of the tree his head scarf flapping in the wind. He had stumbled across a great treasure which was the topic of focus for this oncoming meeting.

The distinctive sound of iced water filling a glass broke the silence. She set a pitcher down and leaned over, a little too much, blonde ringlets dancing across her shoulder and chest. She stepped over, straddling his lap while eyeing the horizon. She kissed the bird reassuringly along bridge of its beak, remaining until the ships patrolling the island cluster were out of sight. She then pulled her wig off, fire-kissed curls falling rebelliously over her shoulders. Slender fingers tossed her crimson locks aside as her lips danced against the skin of his ear “I know this charade is certainly my fault but we’ve got to stop meeting like this… do you know how much your coffers paid for a non-existent blonde princess named Oriana?!”  She smirked running a finger under his chin. “A blonde dalliance ... I don’t know that you could handle that much fun, Sand Prince. …"

Anubis sat up as she appeared behind close enough to his face. His grin stayed on his face as he did not move. "If I didn't know you any better I would say blonde suits you although I doubt your followers would approve, ur persona as the Flamecloak is one that holds a certain seriousness to it....... Well I'm always up for some form of fun, question is are you up for it? "Anubis remainined seated under the tree his hand briefly touching her finger which was under his chin. More than anything Anubis felt her energy so similar to his in some aspects.

" we have things to discuss, and I don't think our ruse is going to last much longer so perhaps we can talk about something beneficial to me and you. Have you heard about The "JINBAO"? "

Her sharp eyes watched the horizon for another moment.  When she was satisfied the ships were gone from sight and she had given them a sufficient "show" to not return for several hours, her demeanor changed. He was right about her charade reaching the end of its viability. Fortunately, he was accustomed to the bizarre antics for her double life and basically ignored her crawling over him like this but she suspected his patience with her was wearing thin no matter how much fun he claimed to be game for. "Hmm ... I don't think you could keep up." She raised a brow "Ha - You would prefer blondes wouldn't you?" She winds a flame coloured tendril around her finger before tucking it away from her face. "I suppose I'm safe then?" She settled back a bit, still facing him and not bothering to move from his lap as she picked up an orange that fell from the tree, taking out a knife to absently carve swirling designs into the skin. "JINBAO?" She shook her head, amused by his outright obsession with legendary treasure sources. "What did you have in mind?" Keeping up her ruse was exhausting and some break in routine would be welcome.

Anubis grinned as he placed his hand down as his hawk flew up to the top of the tree before looking at Kiya "Prefer? Not necessarily prefer blondes or brunettes or red haired minxes , its the character of the person that matters, for sheer beauty is nothing without character........" Anubis watched her draw her knife , and start carving a orange. Anubis then continued his grin "I have it on good information that the legendary treasure ship Jinbao will be docking at Veilton, the port bridge island in a day or two, they are there to collect a rare gemstone which is said to be the size of small boat. They found it during a excursion near that area. I honestly am not concerned with the gemstone, but on board that ship, will be treasures, gold, silver, diamonds and bullion." Anubis paused as he then continued making sure only Kiya could hear him, "But other than the treasure, there are also countless precious historical artefacts and antiques from a lost time, books and treasure maps and documents.Timeless valuables are on this ship, the Happo Navy use it to salvage and collect their spoils of war and conquest from across the sea..... The JINBAO has only ever embarked 4 times before in history, this is the 5th voyage and once it reaches the Happo territory we will not be able to get what we need from the ship. This ship will be heavily guarded by many parties........ we should join forces for this....." Anubis sat back waiting to see what she would think about the whole proposal before her.

"Hmm ... Minxes? Do tell ... "  She watched, amused, as his face lit up the more he spoke of treasure.  They were both rich beyond measure but it never seemed enough for the wild-eyed Yonkou. Perhaps it was the hunt he craved. "You really are insatiable, aren't you?" She was still settled casually straddling his lap and she carved her orange, leaning in closer when he paused and spoke in a more secretive tone.  She studied him as he detailed contents of the treasure, her own eyes glittering at the mention of artifacts. It would be insanity to go after such a vessel but that was what made it worth doing. She held her up the orange, examining the carving on its skin. "Rumor has it a very valuable devilfruit may be traveling with this treasure - years ago, I'd given up on ever being able to capture it."  She slid the tip of the knife through the skin, cutting it into perfect segments. "This is absolute madness, Anubis ... of course I'm coming along.  We'll need a quick maneuverable vessel that will be hard to detect. I don't think we can out-muscle this, it would risk putting the treasure at the bottom of the sea. We have to commandeer the flag ship - the fleet wouldn't dare fire upon it.  We either need stealth or some sort of pretense?"  She leaned forward, her green eyes flickering with mischief, pierced an orange segment and held it lightly to his lips and whispered. "How hungry are you?"

Anubis chuckled as he acknowledged her information about the devil fruit "A devil fruit? how curious......well should you find it , it can be yours to keep..... what devil fruit is this exactly do you know?" Anubis curiosity could not be sated, that was the vastness of treasures on the Jinbao. Anubis then said "Taking the ship might be difficult, mainly because of the guard, the Happo Navy guards are one thing.... but there has been a rumour of a schichibukai and other factions guarding the ship. The shichibukai is of particular issue, she directly protects the ship and is known to fight devil fruit users, on top of that the government assassins from CP9 and  their ilk will be guarding the ship. I do not want to destroy the ship..... therefore i would say he get in , gab what we" Anubis leaned forward as he took the orange segment into his mouth as i grinned "To answer your question...... I'm absolutely famished"

Anubis then chewed on the orange piece before he looked her straight in the eyes "Would you be able to procure a fast ship? Like the one you described......" Anubis had many ships but he needed a discreet yet heavily armed one, the Grim Death could lay artillery fire, but they needed a chaser ship that would be able to catch up.

She raised a brow at him and his usual absurdity.  "Of course I know which one it is ... what I did not know is that I would require your permission to take obtain it." She narrowed her eyes slightly - he always brought out her aggressive, competitive streak due to his constant sense of entitlement to everything in the world. "Hmm ... I don't plan to become a fruit user any time soon but I'll see what i can do about saving your sanding ass from CP9 if you beha - ... oh ..."  She paused as he took the fruit, meeting his gaze. "I think I have the sort of thing we need - I have had to evacuate refugees who were people who have given me information on WG movements threatening my territory.  It's a swift, stealth vessel but unfortunately quite small. The less people we take the more treasure we leave with." She leaned forward tracing her thumb along his lower lip, wiping away a single drop of juice. "Treasure we may acquire, if you ah ... permit me to partake, of course." She scoffed. "...but I don't know if anything can sate though hunger of yours ... and yet I wonder ... " Still feeling her temper rise, she narrowed her eyes, jabbing her knife into the tree next to his neck, the other hand gripping the fine fabric of his shirt collar. "... what would happened if I behaved like you ... taking what I wanted, like the whole world was mine ..." She leaned in menacingly. "Are we going to have a problem, pirate?"

Anubis again chuckled to her response over the devil fruit. "I am not giving your permission we are merely negotiating the split of the spoils of this endeavor. After all knowledge is strength and it was I that brought this proposal to you with the information of the grand prize, so in order to avoid any...... Unpleasantness I am extending the courtesy of not taking items you have marked for your split of the treasure... I suppose this is a side effect of defeating and conquering pirates rather than cooperating with them, we are on somewhat even footing here so it makes sense for me to state that the devil fruit is all yours" Anubis hidden meaning as well behind the words was once he had found the special item that he had secret knowledge of on that vessel, should kiya learn of its existence he worried that they might fight over who it may belong to, or perhaps someone in her organization might get greedy and try to claim it. In dealing with pirates it was common for there to be back stabbings and betrayals after all.

Anubis then took her hand as she wiped the liquid from his lip, holding it elegantly almost caressing it as he looked sharply into her eyes. "So we have an agreement then? Once we have reached the ship we can do a more detailed split of the items...."

[[a distance away from the Port bridge city veiltown]]

There was smoke and dust In the air as a fire and wreckage became apparent in the middle of this part of the sea. A huge violet ship, cladded in gold and armed with multiple cannons surrounded by a host of battleships around it sailed through the wreckage. The ship was a grand site armed to the teeth but beautifully decorated. An entire army was in this shop armed with traditional garbs commonly worn by a sect of the Happo Navy. But there seemed to be shock and awe on their faces. "I heard of her strength but to think...." the soldiers whispered amongst themselves. Another soldier whispered "shut up she can hear you....". The figure in the middle stood calmly but the aura around it as anything but easy. Her sharp features showing as she held her grip tightened, she was hoisting a man in the air by the neck, the man was bleeding and aost choking clearly bloodied and beaten by the woman who was holding him up "Shit you damn monster!!! No one told us you were going to be on this ship....." The woman dressed in red and black and a traditional Chinese martial arts garb with floral design present on the dress, her pants were also black. Her arms muscular amd firmly toned as was her body due to decades of training and concentration and devotion only matched by her strong sharp stare her eyes Hazel with character with her black hair. On the seas right now there was no one who knew not of her. She sank the ships that had attacked them with her bare hands, sinking some of them. She defeated multiple devil fruit users in the process. The Regent of Xing Shi island and one of the shichibukai. "None of you are even close to being strong enough to give me a fight..... I had wished this excursion would have bore fruit for me.... But unfortunately no one worthy has stepped foward" with the army on the ship that was unbelievable after all this woman had taken down 5 pirate ships by herself without needing anyone to extend a hand. A man garbed in military attire then spoke standing on the upper deck "in surprised she agreed to escort this vessel but its comforting to know we have the `Calm tempest on our side.... She is like a hurricane...."

[[ Fei Wu Shang " The calm Tempest"]]
[[shichibukai]]
[[Former bounty 300,000,000 beli]]

She faced outwards towards the open ocean as the ship sailed past the carnage as she dropped the man before returning to sit on the deck cross legged , would there be any worthy foe on this journey?

Kiya raised a brow as he laughed at her and gave a surprisingly measured response instead of taking the bait of her obnoxious challenging behavior that often got them into a cloak and dagger battle of wit, charm, and veiled threats - which made her suspect he was definitely hiding something.  This didn't surprise her but what did surprise he was how she felt - was this ... pain? She let her aggression melt away as he took her hand, returning his dark gaze with a stormy jade one.

"My dearest Anubis" -she smirked bitterly- "... I suppose you think me stupid. You mentioned lots of vague treasure - but I know it takes more than that to turn your head - even the glory of catching such an impossible vessel isn't enough to be worth this kind of risky operation. There is something else ... I don't know what it is.  I don't care. For people like us, allies that won't stab us in the back at the first best offer they find like a damn mercenary are extremely difficult to find and even harder to keep. True, genuine loyalty is not something one can buy ... and true friendships are" -she gave a disappointed scoff- "... apparently impossible for people like us. There is not one damn thing on that boat worth more than that to me. Not one thing in the world, really. No crown, no treasure, no riches, no artifact nor spell - all of those things can be taken away. Treasure won't watch your 6 and won't bleed for you."

Her melancholy gaze searched his eyes. "Perhaps I am indeed stupid. I thought we could be friends ... I even, foolishly thought we were friends. I would have walked through hell to get whatever the fuck is on the bloody boat because you asked me to - because that's what loyalty is. What is so special that you think worth hiding from me ... that could possibly be worth more than trust? Than respect?" Before she could stop it, a single teardrop escaped and splashed, almost in slow motion onto his hand. She had never been so angry with herself - with her own stupidity. She had always know better than to trust a bloody pirate, particularly that one. As ever, the only one she could trust was herself.

"Anubis ..." She shook her head pushing everything away until her eyes were blank, void, almost dead. Compartmentalizing was the only way to survive.  "We'll have to be careful. CP9 has been trying to assassinate my father for my entire life.  They think he is a fruit user - we can use that somehow. I'll keep them busy while you ... do whatever it is you do. Anubis I- ... I hope you find what you're looking for." Her tone darkened a bit. "... and don't underestimate the value of my alliance and empire. As I've promised you before, Fire melts Sand ... and after all, it's just business to you, isn't it?  I'll try to remember that in the future."

Anubis grin somewhat dissipated, what just happened? Was she angry or bitter with him for some reason? Exactly what did he say that would cause such ire. Anubis then leaned back onto the tree as he let out a sign, before looking into the sky"Loyalty...... i see, it seems that over my time i have brought upon masses of people who have sworn fealty and loyalty to me. But yet i wonder if you understand the amount of blood and sacrifice......  do you know the story of my kingdom? Not the one i created, but the one i was born into, the land of sand and beginnings.... of Alabasta?"

Anubis then looked at her "My brother was a honourable man, same as my father, you sometimes couldn't tell them apart really, my mother was the model Queen of the country and worked tirelessly to keep our household in order. My father the king knew the problems that plagued our country , the parliament and senate began eating the country from within and my father for the sake of keeping decorum and peace and stability kept things as they were. My brother a distinguished figure in the military kept the status quo for the sake of my father, and my other brother, the idiot, was spoilt by the inner sanctum of the country. When i saw the darkness Alabasta was undergoing , i grew and i tried to change it, i tried to fight my way to change..... my rebellion led to my defeat and imprisonment, at the hands of my mentor , my brother and my father. They locked me in a cell and threw away the key simply because i was a threat, despite my mother and little sister pleading them...... my family, plagued by the greedy, torn by the corrupt, they fed off our royalty and sullied our names. When i was freed , I walked away , swearing to come back one day....... over time while i was on the sea, i learnt, i watched my old crew die in front of me, my Captain who fought was killed , betrayed, used. When i became a captain i took it upon myself, not to be betrayed, not to be used, to take everything and not take for granted that the loyalty of many in me could be cost them their lives....... I seek to be pirate King, pirates are not forgiving creatures, we do not

Anubis reached up at the sky, his palm wide open "The number of people who have died for me is as infinite as the sky above Flamecloak Empress, and one who aims to conquer the sky and sea doesn't simply act naively and divulge every minute thing to others, whether they be ally or enemy, otherwise i do a disservice to all who swear fealty and loyalty to me......." Anubis then paced forward "Fire may melt sand, but together fire and sand can create beautiful glass, and i hope over time we can achieve more things, after all i have...... i have a great deal......" Anubis wanted to say respect but he was worried this would come off as if he was somehow bowing to her "Lets just say , there are very few people in this ocean that could make me come to some patch of land in the middle of nowhere and have a negotiation like this....."

Kiya had let her temper and her ghosts from the past poison her happiness again.  She watch as his smile faded and saw the pain in his eyes as he told his sad tale.  How could she have been so selfish as to think in his long years at sea that there wouldn't be many others he was loyal to and protective of. She would be near the end of that line. Everything he had done was to avenge and protect something and she accused him of having no loyalty.  Her voice caught in her throat for a moment - she hated herself for treating him so harshly.

"Anubis ... I'm sorry - I didn't know. You're right, you don't really owe me ... anything. I sorry I cling so tightly to ideals of trust and loyalty. It is just such a luxury to me now. My father made sure that any one near me would be bribed into betraying me and those who would not be bought were killed ... just to teach me the lesson that trust is useless and everyone is merely a tool to be disposed of when they are no longer of use."

She knelt in the sand feeling the glassy particles run between her fingers noticing how elegantly and easily it slipped away.

"He used my mother as collateral in a double crossing deal that he engineered and left her to die.  Her plea for aid was met with the question 'Why? What do you offer me?' That alone killed her no matter how much she had to give. She was a discarded tool. You saw what a monster my grandfather was.

I... I just can't do it anymore ... I can't keep passing on that darkness. Maybe my idealism will get me killed but I'd rather die that live like that.  I've quadrupled imperial territory and tripled production ... just by giving people what they need rather than draconian rule.  I have found that ... well-treated people will work harder for you, will warn you of enemies, and will defend you with their lives."

She got up and went after him. She was almost afraid to look him in the eyes, her own green eyes moist with sorrow and shame. "I'm sorry for accusing you of lacking integrity - it wasn't fair nor accurate.  I am not entitled to ... any of your ventures nor secrets - you kindly invited me here and I attacked you when I was afraid of also being just a tool to you. I suppose, despite my efforts, in the end I did let their darkness lash out and hurt someone ..."

She closed her eyes for a moment, fighting back tears. She could never see him as she did when they met, just as some spoiled prince coasting to success on wealth and charisma. Over the years she saw more and more of the real person - but today shattered any illusions her prior assumptions ... and for the first time in a very long time, she wanted something.

"I'm not asking for your forgiveness - nor do I deserve it ... pirate that you are. I was wrong. You have my respect, my loyalty, and my resources to aid you in whatever you need. You've been a good ally and a kind friend. As an apology, the Flamecloak Empire is utterly at your disposal. I won't question your motives again."

She moved her hand to touch his face but paused, half afraid he would hurl her into the sea.  "Anubis ... I ... please don't leave ..." She managed to push away the one thing she just discovered she couldn't bare to lose.

Anubis slowly felt her hand feeling it against his as he shook his head "Ti's quite alright my dear, I understand somewhat, like I said you have your ways based on everything you have experienced, I worked long enough with your father to know what his style was like, but again I feel you have done a noteworthy job taking on all these pressures and handling them.. I do not choose my allies simply, they have to be people of substance and you are one of those people.... As for resources and such I do appreciate you extending them to me as we will be in need of it.... " Anubis wasn't accustomed to making people feel better but he knew he was speaking truth. Anubis then pointed to the sea" you and I are allies and therefore are subject to understandings within reason, when the time comes I shall show you what it is I seek on that ship but only then, and even then I will only share its identity with you...... It is a token of our alliance as well as our...... Friendship"

Anubis grinned at her before then chuckling "now may we leave this wretched place before time claims us " Anubis pointing to seaas dark clouds form at the horizon

She pressed her forehead against his for a moment, closing her eyes in the way a jungle cat would greet member of its own pack. He may have forgiven her but she still had not forgive herself she even felt bad he was comforting her after such an outburst. She would make it up to him somehow though, the only thing she could think of the moment seemed a bit selfish on her part. "You are very kind. You still don't owe me an explanation. Thank you for understanding that the dead hand of vicious father sometimes reaches beyond the grave to sabotage me. I can't let it happen again - it is too costly to lose something so precious."

She gazed up at the sky, the brooding grey hues reflecting in her pale green eyes, giving them a violet cast. She loved storms ... the brooding danger and turmoil on the sea had a way of making one feel alive and finding out what matters. It wouldn't be the first storm the weathered this day. "Anubis ..." She pressed her lips to his cheek for a moment. "... you're a better friend than I deserve." The distant thunder was oddly calming - she could feel the hunger rising in her eyes as the sea called to them.

Anubis chuckled slightly as she then suddenly pressed her forehead against his and as she did this he held both her hands, he was not shocked by this as he had experienced similar gestures during his travels, so he understood the weight and emotional intent behind it, it was not threatening but instead something sad.
He reached over to pet her head after she kissed him on the cheek. He could see the storm forming far away from here he then wrapped his cloak around her "Its alright here... there is safety here with me, where no one can manipulate or hurt you...... where your fathers voice will no longer reach you.......ill create that world together with you.... if you want that is........again you and i are allies..... we should share more with each other like you said earlier......." Anubis spoke in her ear as his cloak wrapped around her and she was with him, in almost mid embrace.

Kiya felt relieved, and no matter how painful it was for both of them, they understood each other better now and their alliance was stronger for it.  She looked up, surprised the he slipped his iconic cloak around her.  She shivered as the soft breath of his words danced against her ear as she listened to his words, soothing and comforting. For the first time, ever in her life, she did feel truly safe. She could never repay him for that. She was silent for a moment, breathing softly and taking in the moment of secure calm.

"Anubis... You have done so much to undo his damage ... you've been a kinder friend than I ever could have asked for, and you've also even been a great mentor to me.  I have learned so very much from you."  She gazed up at him stepping a bit closer. "...especially..." She ran her fingertip slowly over his lower lip, her voice lowering to a soft purring growl. "... how to take what I want, like it's already mine ..."  Her lips met his lightly at first but she was far too hungry for only as taste

Anubis felt her moving around meeting his vision as she looked up at him, her touch on his lip as she kisses him slightly as she told him that she has learnt how to take what she wants. Anubis could only smile slightly before whispering "Mmm, you have learnt but not fully.... perhaps i should show you how to take everything you want....... wholeheartedly......." He leaned in , her firmly in his embrace breathing softly against her neck before moving to her lips, teasing her lips, his hands around her waist feeling her.

He then suddenly placed a finger on her lips "Perhaps we should explore this particular pleasure at another time, especially since we are on such a tight schedule..... as you are my ally, i leave all options open on the table....." Anubis was slightly bemused , but he must admit even he was incredibly on point at that time, if it wasn't for the tight schedule of everything , he might have done something........

The den den mushi in Anubis's pocket started ringing as he then spoke into it "Yes Yes Ryan you can come retrieve me, we will have to proceed in due time, don't dock on the island, ill come to you, just slightly off the coast...."

She knew she was playing with fire but this was the kind she didn't have dominion over.  As safe as she felt she knew he was dangerous - but that somehow made the appeal stronger.  She knew she had gone to far as she felt his hands around her waist ... now the fire was playing with her.  She shivered as his whispered taunting words danced over her skin. She had already lost this round before it began.  "...and what is it you want?"  she heard herself say ... apparently, she was not one to quit while she's behind.

She gasped as his breath moved across her skin and finally to her lips to finish what she started.  She waited breathlessly, hearing the sound of her own heart beat accelerating over the thunder, only for her lips to be met with his finger? She blinks, and giving him a quizzical look before his next words revealed she'd been played.  Not only that, he got to see what absurd power he had over her, and she got nothing for it.  She mumbled her usual complaint, "Bloody Pirate..." - while this was usually growled, this time it sounded more like a pout. She could feel the heat flushing her cheeks that she could not hide even if she wanted to.  Where was that damn cloak when she needed it? - he would pay for this ... very slowly.

She pulled his elegant cloak tightly around herself, it was a bit too big, and she looked absurd, but it was something. "I'm keeping this, by the way! I'm taking what's mine! Claim it if you dare! " Eventually she would learn when to stop but today was not that day.

Anubis didn't know to react, did he want to chase her down for the cloak, but then he smiled to himself when as she said she is keeping it , the storm was indeed brewing in the long distance ahead and it made for quite a sight as she pulled and wrapped his cloak around herself with the storm in the background.

[[2 days later]]

Anubis stood on the deck of his ship, his eager crew members mostly surrounding him wanting to follow. Anubis simply chuckled as he raised his hand "It is quite alright ill be back at some point, you can all calm down" Even King was screeching in the sky as he landed on Anubis padded shoulder , he was not wearing a cloak today , instead simply his dessert garb and head scarf wrapped on his head. Anubis descended from the ship onto a smaller ship, going to the meeting place where they had agreed upon. Anubis was accompanied by two of his division commanders. It was a man wearing a suit and the other was a fox looking Mink wearing a feather hat and a brown overcoat, his two ears sticking out from his hat as there is a slight scar on his face. Ryan then finally spoke "Anubis sama..... forgive me if i speak out of turn, but i don't see why we don't use our vessels while their ship is docking at the port?" Ryan was feeling quite uneasy, for one they were not in their own ship for this operation and this exposed Anubis to too many outside possibilities. He gripped the hilt of his blade which was strapped to his hip, he had to be ready for anything.

[[Ryan "Fire King" Crew]]
[[Anubis pirates 2nd division commander]]
[[Left hand of Anubis]]
[[Bounty unknown]]

Anubis chuckled in response to Ryans concern, of course Ryan was someone who had served Anubis the longest and hence he would be the one who kept things close to him "If we attacked them while they docked we might be facing more than the ship guard and whoever is escorting this ship.... on land there is bound to be marine forces and various other....... distractions....." The mink finally spoke "This person we are to meet.... i know we have a relationship with the "Flame Cloak Emperor" , I've seen the emblem a few times from my hometown... its very rare for our people to do trade with outsiders, but their reach is quite far. What would be their motivation for helping us?" Anubis looked at the young mink named Freddy, he was quite inquisitive and sharp. Anubis then spoke "Well..... lets just say I've been doing business with them for a long time now, while before we were working from a business standpoint, our relationship has deepened over time.... as is of course par for course. In order to become King young Freddy, you must always look at the big picture, having them on our side increases our reach as well and they get to procure things usually only pirates plunder over......."  Ryan then knocked Freddy upside the head "Oi, you will address the captain by Anubis SAMA or CAPTAIN" Freddy winced slightly before wrinkling his nose before chuckling "Oh right, sorry Anubis sama" Anubis simply waved it off, Freddy was quite new to the crew, but had done enough to earn the title of Division Commander , not an easy feat, his prowess in battle and his resourcefulness was what made him stand out, not to mention his demeanour, a sense of honour that he had carried with him.

[[Freddy "The Honourable"]]

[[Ethiopian Wolf Mink]]

Anubis simply stood on this lifeboat with Ryan and Freddy , as they finally reached the meeting point promised between himself and Kiya.

[[Leagues away at Veiltown]]

The port city of Veiltown is a city that is situated on top of a bridge which brings together two nations, while the nations both are insignificant in terms of importance to the world, Veiltown holds great importance as a port city to the powers of the world. Thousands of ships, government, trade and pirate alike all find ways to make port in this town due to its location before the turbulent part of the New World while remaining at the edge of the grand line. There is one obvious force in this town and that would be the marines hold a grip on the main port areas. Today on the huge silver bridge there was a huge concession of people standing by watching as the giant treasure ship entered to dock the port beneath them. JINBAO was received with massive cheering and great fan fare, it had arrived to pick up a precious stone mined in one of the nearby kingdoms. The Happo Navy had always been known as a kingdom that often went on voyages for the sole purpose of finding the worlds greatest treasures and storing them on board their treasure vessels. Such exercises had been practiced by several kingdoms in the past, but the Happo Navy treasure excursions were now classed as a World Natural Wonder, this brought upon great attention from the news as well as the glances from the world. On board this ship, escorting it , would be the famous shichibukai Fei Wu Shang, who was known as one of the strongest martial artists the world had ever seen. On the island as well several forces seeking to cash in on this once in decades event.

A softly furling fog curled over the beach as the dark silhouette of a vessel or possibly a large serpent approached, seeming almost alive.  It seemed to intermittently disappear as the water shifted and lighting changed. When it finally moored, its details could be seen more clearly.

The vessel was an intricately carved black wood like substance in the shape of a dragon, highly detailed right down to the individually carved scales. There was some sort of translucent mineralized overlay - sometimes appearing black, other times reflecting a green, blue, or gold, allowing it to reflect the hues of the sea, moon, or sun so it seemed to nearly disappear with the lighting and flow of the sea..

Additionally the vessel was equipped with twin sets of propulsion dials, insulated for noise reduction, on either side and could be operated in tandem, independently, or alternatively, allowing the movement of the ship to almost slither, mimicking the natural movements of a serpent. The small quarters below allowed the deck the remain clear of form that would dispel the optical illusions of its invisibility or organic nature, were furnished with black marble and gold accents, giving it an eerie, temple-like feel.

The gleaming eyes of the dragon's head was made of an opalescent gem, causing it to appear as if the eyes constantly change colours.  The mouth was slightly open concealing a device that could emit a light weight but dense fog that would dance over the surface of the sea to further obscure its approach.  Another device hidden in the mouth could dispense a thick, tar like fuel that floated atop the sea, which could be ignited by a device hidden in the nostrils, which emitted a green flame which would bur atop the fuel for days. Despite it's small size, the intricate details and unique technologies made this one of the most expensive vessels in the fleet.

Kiya silently disembarked the vessel, clad in a black catsuit, with geometric cut-outs around her abdomen and rib cage, revealing her well-trained bronze stomach and back, along with a jagged scar along her side.  Her thigh-high black water tight boots seemed to also have the scale like reflect of her ship.  Over her left shoulder was a black, scaled half cloak, glistening with green blue scales that shifted to black in changing lighting.  Her curls had been tamed into a smooth waves that toppled over her shoulders like a fine silk woven of fire and gold.

She approached the agreed upon rendezvous sight, no sight of her iconic cloak in sight at the moment.
She approached Anubis, carrying an elegantly wrapped bundle tied with a black satin ribbon. She acknowledged his companions with a respectful nod.  She also gave a neutral, professional nod to Anubis, himself.  "Greetings. I am Sekhmet, first division commander of the Flamecloak Imperial Fleet. We have met various times over the years but I don't expect you to recall every forgettable face in your travels.  She held the parcel out to him. "I was instructed to deliver this, along with the sincere thanks of Flamecloak for your assistance in tying up the loose ends of an old enemy."

The parcel contained the cloak he draped about her days ago. At the time, she had not been ready to give up the relief she felt when he put it around her... the haunting demons that were driven away - right before he turned her away.  She decided to take the next best thing, she had kept the cloak close, his scent now somewhat replaced with hers in its delicate fibers, but it had been well taken care of, appearing fresh and new.

Bound with the cloak, was a large golden square, emblazoned with an emblem of fire and wings. "You have been given a token of passage, as well as the imperial seal which gives you dominion to command our vessels so long as you hold it. This particular access has been given to no one in the history of the empire, and as a security measure your own emblem is on the reverse." She then turned to indicate the dark dragon-like vessel which still seemed to disappear from sight, when the light was right, even while stationary. "Additionally, you have been given passage upon our Void Bringer vessel, the Onxy Wyvern. It will bear you silently and sightlessly within a confounding mist until you find what you seek." She placed into his hand a short black staff with a green stone at the end. "This device can summon the vessel to your location when activated." Finally she gazes up at him, the professionalism fading from her eyes for a split second as she spoke. "... and as a courtesy of the empire, for the purposes of this mission, you have been also given me - fully, and completely to dispatch as you see fit."  A slight smirk crossed her lips. "Do try not to squander my ... talents, won't you?"

Anubis tried not to act overly familiar with the figure that appeared  before them as he knew who it was but his  companions did not know exactly who it was.  Anubis had always found Kiyas dedication to her alter egos to be somewhat admirable. Anubis also found the ship to be quite a marvel and he could tell it was a vessel of great quality. Anubis nodded "Your master does you credit , it is quite a splendid looking vessel..... and also thank you for ......... the seal and my personal ... item, we appreciate the decorum and generosity shown to us. " Anubis unraveled the parcel, his cloak flowing in the wind as he placed it upon himself, the cloak flapping as he tied it firmly. Ryan then took the seal nodding his head "Yeah, thanks for everything so far.... I believe we all have requisite stuff needed for this mission, the ship is really amazing looking, whats it called? The Onyx Wyvern? looks like a solid vessel" Ryan reached across to feel the black marble furnishings as he grinned. Freddy the mink was curious about who this person was, he could smell someone who oozed importance. Freddy nodded his head at this person but didn't say a word yet. His kind often had dealings with the empire and they were recently quite simple transactions and quite peaceful usually, but they always had a air of authority around them, similar in some instances to the World Government in many aspects. Freddy could smell so many things, the smell of travel and trade as well as the smell of fire and battle .

Ryan then spoke "So, how many forces are your side providing? It can't just be us providing the fighting power for this?" Anubis tapped Ryans shoulder lightly "Ryan, they have given us Sekhmet, you have already seen what she is capable of in battle" Ryan clicked his teeth , of course he remembered the firepower this particular soldier had put out, it was impressive her show in the catacombs. Yet Ryan couldn't help but feel uneasy about something, something that didn't sit well with him. Anubis then grinned "Don't worry Ryan, i have full fate in this ones ability and I'm sure you don't doubt my senses do you?" Ryan decided to let it go, he would simply have to judge merit during battle, Ryan had been rude on many occasions after all , based on what Ryan had seen , their fighting styles both involved the use of fire. Freddy simply let out a playful laugh seeing Ryan being uneasy, he didn't feel anything threatening from Sekhmet but how was he to know either way. Freddy didn't want to speak out of turn so he simply nodded again. It was a strange journey since he joined Anubis but he was finding it more and more interesting by the second.

[[Veiltown, Curtain Bar, Downtown]]

IN probably the shadiest bar in Veiltown, it was interesting then the name of the said bar was curtain. Curtain bar was a infamous pirate bar that acted in secrecy , separately from the world above it. Located at the edge of the Bridge city and where a small docking port existed for pirate ships. Due to the size of the city there was no way for the marines to police it all the way through, and those who have been stationed at the very edge here, well they accepted belli in order to turn the blind eye to the going ons at this place. To look behind the Curtain was to look into the dark underbelly of Veiltown, and indeed , a big concentration of scum and villainy along with the hordes of pirates dreaming of conquest in the New World. There were whisperings in the bar, the great treasure ship had docked , but that news was also accompanied with the fact that the Grim Death, the flagship of the Anubis pirates had been on the move and last spotted in some vicinity.

At one table at the edge of the bar, there was an ongoing discussion "Jinbao docking here is a once in a life time thing, we shouldn't let this chance pass us by......" , another figure threw a knife on the table "Yeah well, the previous guys tried to go at it alone, and what happened? The Calm Tempest destroyed their entire fleet with their bare hands they say......" this time a female figure who was chugging an entire mug of beer spoke "I aint tangling with Fei Wu Shang, let alone the Happo honour guard they have on that bloody ship......." Another figure at the head of the table shook his head "Anubis is on the move somehow, i don't know how he figures, but if he is going after the Jinbao, we can use that chaos to stake a claim in all this, not to mention maybe we can take him down as well...." The female figure then let out a sarcastic laugh "First you want to rob the invincible ship and then you want to kill Anubis? Your out of your mind, not to mention, did you forget who his rumoured ally is ?  Thats like two powerful forces coming for you, i certainly don't want that....." Another figure, cocked the trigger of his gun "Ohh... you mean.... the FlameCloak Empire?.... I've heard rumours, but how much truth is there to it......"

A discussion was occurring here amongst several crews who would decide if they were to form a alliance to try and rob the JINBAO, negotiations and deliberations were ongoing, but a decision had to be made, because it was only 5 hours till the JINBAO would begin its voyage back to Happo territory.

Kiya eyed the falcon fondly for a moment, admiring his deadly but elegant features. "Don't worry, you have not been forgotten, friend."  She pulled a out small pouch containing choice slices of fresh meat and fish for the regal raptor.

A new figure approached - a mink wearing the red and gold insignia of the tribes official ambassador. He eyes the pirates uneasily before noticing the clasp on Kiya's shoulder cape, bearing the Seastone Flame emblem and approaches her as the contact he was sent to intercept. She gave a respectful, professional bow.  Kiya had done her research on this particular branch of Mink tribes before initiating an expansion.  Her key to success was to find out what was needed and to assist rather than exploit - she favoured catch her allies with honey, not vinegar - it propagated fierce loyalty to the Empire. These particular Minks were trickier, having not much use for wealth, but what they did enjoy was rich textiles and an unfortunate drought had depleted much of their crops. She had already sent a large vessel full of fresh and preserved food, along with many bolts of luxurious textiles.

"Forgive my lack of etiquette as we didn't have the room for a proper ambassador for this venture, so I'm afraid you're stuck with me as a representative. I am Sekhmet - and don't require any fine titles nor genuflections, call on me if you need anything. On behalf of the Seastone Empire, I am pleased to meet a member of our newly allied territories. I’m sorry our prior plans for introduction on your home island was changed on such short notice - something came up and we are working on a tight schedule. My vessel happened to be the closest to you. We were troubled to hear of the continued persistence of the drought and have arranged for another aid ship to reach your shores by dawn. In addition to food and textiles, included are some seeds for fast growing fruits - remember to keep them isolated so native crops won't be over-run. Do let me know if there is anything else. I’m sorry but we really must be going - I just needed to offer our official greeting and also to give you this …” She pressed a emergency distress line small transponder snail into his hand.

The dark furred mink was stiff, disciplined and of few words, narrow eyes unsure of what to make of the pirates present. “My name is Truvius. There is no call for apologies - the provisions you sent …” There was a soft quake in his voice as emotions almost got the better of him before he recovered. “… the provisions you have provided far outweigh any ceremony decorum and we already cannot repay you and still you send more… ”

Kiya smiled warmly shaking her head. “Nonsense. There is no call for such things - we have and understanding.  As long as we are welcome on your land, you are under the protection of the Seastone Empire - even if that protection is from nature itself.  We are family now.”  She pressed a small golden coin into his hand with the same flame wing emblem as the large golden tablet she had given Anubis. “This will grant you passage through our outposts and also grant an armed escort to see you safely home.  These seas are treacherous and the second aid ship it the least we can do to thank you for traversing them in lieu of our original meeting plans.”

Truvius bowed deeply.  “Tell your master that we are forever indebted to his generosity and all of our swords are at his command, effective immediately."
Kiya gave a swift not of acknowledgement as she watched the mink return to his vessel. She noticed Ryan's uneasiness and to be sure, something did feel a bit off, but she had learned long ago to never overtly reveal to anyone that you sense danger.  She pulled some freshly made black gauntlets from the hidden pocket of her shoulder cloak, containing the same colour shifting dragon scale motif as her cloak and boots and tossed them to him.  "Here, kid ... try to lighten up, yeah?" She passed by him firmly patting then gripping his shoulder almost to let him know she was on alert too. "It's good to see you again."

Just then she felt a buzzing from her pocket and stepped away as she pulled out a den den mushi.

"... of course it's you ... Vice Admiral Shihiri ... what could you possibly want?"

"Goddamnit, Sekhmet - just ONE time I want to hear a high alert alarm that ISN'T tied to the Seastone Empire. One. Time.  What the HELL are you doing?!”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about - I’m currently in MY territory minding MY own business - unlike SOMEONE.”

“Damnit, Sekhmet - don’t play coy with me.  That bloody Yonkou’s vessels were spotted by CP9 well within range of… “

“Within range of what…?”

“Stop with this tiresome charade - you damn well know what! Don’t let that idiot ally of yours trick you into thinking that you think you can actually take on something like the Jinbao…”

“Jinbao?!” She laughed mockingly. “Shihiri Shihiri Shihiri - don’t tell me you believe in such fairy tales?  What are you - six?!”

“… I’m not buying it.  I know Flamecloak, for whatever damn reason, has been palling around with that slimey-“

“Be careful, Vice Admiral …”

“You know what I mean.  This is a terrible idea - he is USING you to take the fall for this suicide mission.  Sekhmet - please … there is nothing I can do to call them off.  Not this time. This one is above my pay grade … stand down. Please. I'm begging you”

“Mmm - I didn't know you cared so much. I’ll consider myself warned.  Thank you, vice admiral … "

"Sekhment , you IDIOT ... please don't do this."

"You know, I could cut you in on this ... thing that definitely isn't happening ... if you promise not to nag me further"

"Goddamnit, Sekhmet!"

"Goodbye, Shahiri."

Anubis watched as Kiya who was now as Sekhmet interacted with the Mink ambassador. It was something to see up close , clearly she has been running her organisation with great tact and skill. Anubis had heard about some of the dealings she had done over time, and her approach was very much more progressive than her father had been. Anubis hadn't had direct contact with the many tribes within the Mink culture, but he had worked with a few minks, for example Freddy. He had met many Mink pirates throughout time but very rarely someone of high stature amongst the free tribtae. Freddy kept quite and just acknowledged  the Mink ambassador by nodding at him. Anubis then stood forth "How very intriguing, come now Freddy, speak up and let us engage in conversation with this fellow...." Ryan then sighed , fearing that Anubis might have disrupted something over there. Anubis however chuckled "Im sure this man would be interested to exchange words......." Freddy stood in the front, trying to be as helpful as possible  " Truvius, i greet you, u may not know me, since i am not zou born, however i have been back to the home and seen how things have been..... what seems to ail you? Which area are you from?"

Ryan was elsewhere during all this and overheard some of the conversation between Sekhmet and a Vice Admiral. Ryan however didn't feel the need to make a big deal out of it, but he would need to keep an eye on the situation. Ryan finally says  "Getting into the area will be interesting, but i have the signal to get some of the ships to rain artillery, but we should first determine the size of their forces......"

Truvius raised his brows ad Freddie approached him. "You... you mean you don't know, sonny? Our home has encountered such ill retribution from thee sea and skies as to not receive rain for two growing seasons now. We would have all but perished or at least had to evacuate if not for the aid ships. By some good fortune, we happen to have a deep rich vein ... of worthless rocks that has attracted the interest of Seastone's imperial expansion. They have not yet even begun to extract the stone - they have been focusing on the logistics of getting air distributed before quarrying the land. They were currently trying to help us find subterranean caches of water. Several ships have arrived setting up a temporary village of sorts for food distribution, medical care and supplies, and even clothing. There would be no home were it not for this alliance ... and still there is more?" Tears were starting to form in his eyes. "I'm sorry for keeping you - was there something you needed from me?"

Kiya had felt eyes on her during her conversation as she made he way back to the larger group. She smirked slightly at Ryan as she passed. Good news - our curious little decoy sent ahead to sniff around the right places have indeed attracted the attention they were meant to. We still have some time before CP9 overtakes them- but their anger will not be merciful upon us when they discover these ... quite empty vessels ... are remotely navigated - nor will they be amused by the explosions and the colourful adhesive. She laughed to herself, imagining the frustration. Shahiri may kill her himself.

She stretched leisurely as she made her way back to the mink. She place a small gold ring with a bright red stone held by a finely cast golden dragon claw into his hand. "I almost forgot, if you should need anything else or if an emergency arises, this will give you direct access to audience with Flamecloak. Have a safe journey home, brother."

She turns her attention back to Anubis. "Speaking of allies, I have been informed that we have much work to do in scant time. At the order of Flamecloak - I am at your service. We mustn't tarry long in this place - the decoys only give us so much time to keep the eyes off of our movements."

Freddy was in shock to hear about drought his homeland was suffering. Freddys face showed considerable concern despite not living the majority of his life in his homeland, yet of course he always felt an attachment to his homeland, as would most Minks who had been out at sea. Freddy had travelled for most of his life, and had been a fugitive for a lot of it. Finding the Anubis pirates and being brought in the fold was a highlight and he would always be loyal to Anubis for that. Anubis could see the look of concern on Freddys face, and usually this would not be a matter that would require his interference, yet he couldn't help but feel his subordinates pain. Anubis then slowly said "Well a drought,... well we know all about that in some places..... its good to see the Seastone empire bring some good to the islands they are expanding into......" Freddy noted "Anubis sama, we have truly allied with someone who is noble and true."

Ryan almost let out a snicker of laughter , Freddy was naive , and his naiveness was something they would have to look into eventually for now he showed enthusiasm. Anubis looked at Ryan and shook his head , Ryan was loyal and strong, but he had often been known for being rude to strangers and impulsive and over protective. All necessary qualities to have, Anubis needed cautious people under him. Anubis watched as sekhmet/kiya handed a ring to the mink dignitary as he acknowledged it. Anubis had taken notice of the little details, the trinkets and items the seastone empire handed to their allies almost like a sign of sharing trust and prosperity with their followers or allies. Anubis was known mostly as an invader, its true that he had taken many islands by force, he had also placed many islands under his protection for a variety of reasons. Revolutionaries also operated in a similar manner except rather than minerals and precious stones they offered liberation and knowledge.

Anubis then responded to kiyas statement about haste. He then said. "You are correct Commander Sekhmet, however it's also about the right timing of attack... Ryan?" Ryan stepped foward " The jinbao is docking at veil Town today to collect a rare block of crystal stone, they are calling it Septim and it was discovered in a island not far from here. The happo excursion force are handing this giant gem to the Jinbao and from there it will begin it's retreat to the happo navy territory..... " Ryan coughed before he continued."Jumping the gun is a no no here, we need to let them create some space and then close in when the coast is clear. There will be a window of an hour before our attilery ships can be in range to halt the Jinbaos movement.... Even then we cannot hope to slow it down, thst shop is armed with every armorment and protection the happo navy can afford...... I've been told that... Shichibukai Fei Wu Shang is on thst boat Anubis Sama.......that may present a challenge.... we have also got word that the happo navy honor guard unit is on that ship as well, their commander is Brigadier General Lu Doan, Satoshi and me fought him once long ago, he is another troublesome character..... And his unit is skilled and disciplined." Anubis raised his eyebrow, both fighters on that ship are S level fighters it would take alot to keep them at bay for 1 hour Anubis then spoke" I doubt they will be the only interested parties defending this ship.... "

Fei wu shang sat cross legged in meditation collecting her chi into her centre. A novel concept but one she had done since birth. Repetition breathes perfection and her fighting abilities must always remain at their utmost. Fei had of course learnt the ways of haki, yet she did not need haki to notice someone watching "You hide your presence poorly.... Yet I suspect you are not here to damage the ship...... You managed to reach this far without me or the guards noticing so I shall give you credit. What do you want?" The figure in the shadow clapped before dropping from the top if the mast to the floor. " You know what I like about you Calm Tempest? You knew better than to attack upon sight, instead you analysed the situation and came up with a stable course of action. It's amazing thst there are some of you pirate scum that can think that intelligently..... " as the man stepped into sight it ws his grey spiky hair that first stood out, his sharp facial features along with his rose tinted sunglasses which covers his sky blue eyes, he wore a black suit unbuttoned with no tie. He carried a gourd strapped to his hip and black steel tipped loafers. Fei raised an eyebrow "I see, so the rumors are true, I should have noticed from the stench of blood and death you and your group exudes......" the man laughed "Come now pirate let's not act like your the good guy in all this.... After all you massacred an entire crew just on the way here earlier... Must say u admire that...." Fei turned away from the man, there were whispers this journey would bring someone from the government but what for? There were already so many powerful forces on this ship alone, something more than a jewel excursion must be happening here. The man then crouched down "Don't fret calm tempest, we are here on orders, we won't get in the way until the time is right.... I am not like alot of you fighting types, ill wait and wait... And at the right time I'll kill who needs to be killed, even if I have to creep up from behind. Its on our list you see, three high priority targets, and I intend to complete the list to BINGO.... All in the sake of Justice of course..."
