Kesu Chapter 1: The formation

The Thespian walked into a small cafe and sat down at a table. The host noticed he had seated himself and prepared to explain what he had done wrong. "You can't..." The host was interrupted before he could finish. "Seat yourself? I believe you'll forgive me. I have a reservation under the name: Thespian." Suddenly the host was in a much brighter mood. "Forgive me, its fine. Would you like to order anything?" "No, I'm waiting for someone. If a Devin Lock comes in please lead him to my location." "As you wish." The host walked back to the entrance with a spring in his step. The Thespian sighed. He's late. Hopefully he remembers our meeting today. His thoughts trailed off as he waited for his first mate.

Devin didn't see why they had to meet at a cafe but had been busy that day advertising for their new mercenary group Kesu, hoping to find work as well as members. In no time at all Devin arrived and was seated "the last of the publicity has been taken care of, there shouldn't be any shortage of people willing to fight for money in the sea" he said a bit passively looking at the masked man across the table "it should also bring work" he said simply

Ozzy was standing there playing his violin, nearby children came and danced around, Ozzy felt warmth and sang,

Did you get enough sleep? You look all tired, where can it reach?

Ozzy finally stopped and picked up his things , the children was sad to see him go, but he promised that he would come back one day and play with them again. Ozzy walked on, he saw a cafe , he was looking for work in this town. He sw the table and the man he was looking for. "Hey does anybody here know DEVIN?? OR THESPIAN????"

"The publicity? It is not done until it has been successful. For now, however you may take a break. Now what is the word about town Devin? Is their anyone you would desire for our crew?" After his questioning the Thespian opened his menu and looked at the appetizers. He shut it after a few seconds and tapped a waiter on the shoulder. "Find us an appetizer, any appetizer." The waiter smiled, "I'll get on it right away." He heard his name mentioned by someone. "We are who you are inquiring of but who are you to know who we are?"

Ozzy jumped across and then sat down at the table "Well good day, im Ozzy Hummingbird, here about a job offer, you guys are setting up some sort of company right? Im a bounty hunter too, i want in... yes can i have pancakes" Ozzy ordered

Devin was quietly browsing a menu, it seems the fliers were already working. He thought to himself about what he might be getting in to, the Thespian was mysterious but it did seem trustworthy. All and all he was confident in his own abilities and thus his own chances of survival. Most jobs could be compleated easly but he prerfered to have back up.

Hyu was lounging outside when he saw a flyer. "Mercenary group? Kesu?" Hyu pondered. He had no job, and he needed food. He needed food, food needed money, money needed work, and work needed a purpose. This would work. He went wandering around until he came upon a cafe. He saw two people sitting at a table. They looked far too rugged to be citizens... he decided to sit down at a table and watch them.

"Hummingbird? hah." The Thespian was amused by his direct approach. He looked directly at Ozzy and asked him "What talents do you have that would be useful or unique? Why should we hire you over anyone else other than the obvious fact that we only have two men? And on that topic why would you logically join a crew of two?" The Thespian wasn't testing his intelligence but his will to work; however he did not hint at this with his voice at all. He looked at the waiter "Sorry for the wait."

Devin looked up interested in assessing his teammates abilities as he was unsure of the Thespian's powers but wanted to be able to plan though any job for his own ease.

Ozzy took a bite of his fresh pancakes and then swallowed before answering "Im a musician y'know, i play music for any occasion, you want solemn, sad, happy, glee, dark, battle cries , i do them all gvnor, I also am a sword fighter and a damn good one ive been told. Lets see, I think i would make a good addition to your crew of two because i can set a mood, these days , the seas are rough y'know? and music can help calm people down, i believe so. I was a student of one of the most famous bounty hunters in the east blue, yah knew him? His name was Robbie "The Owl" Whittaker. So i have experience and i know how the business works. And as for your final question , as to why would i join you? Well, i have never actually joined other teams before this other than my teacher, but i saw you (points at Devin ) giving out some fliers and i could feel your determination for some reason, you lot seem very interesting to me based on what i see so far"

Hyu eavesdropped the whole time. They were 'Kesu'. Huh. Didn't look like much. But, whatever. He took out the 'kunai' part of his weapon and three into the spaces between the fingers on his right hand. He'd have to make a demonstration in order to prove he was worthy.

Devin was dubious on a musican but a skilled swordsmen was always usefull. "Me? oh well I suppose you should hear what Im capable of as well" he picked up a fork and it suddenly molded in to a spoon, then a kife, then two forks of equil size and shape. "you see my power is over metal" he explained "and like you Im an artist but I perfer drawing"

"Very good then;" The Thespian continued "I approve of your attitude and capabilities. Unless Devin has a reasonable argument as to why you don't belong in a crew like ours you can venture forth with us." He sighed and said, "out of all fairness I shall tell you my special ability. I can set the mood a little better than you can. I can control the mood. However that does not mean my abilities as a combatant are limited, I am a swordsman as well." As the waiter set the plate down he handed out some plates. "Enjoy the meal as it is complimentary; think of this as a congratulations for getting as far as you have." He took a piece of the appetizer and put it onto his plate. The waiter asked the customary question before leaving "anything else?" "Yes, please get us three drinks." He pointed towards Devin, "and this good sir hasn't ordered yet."

Devin ordered simply and politely as the waiter left there table "control over emotions, that's certainly useful, it could be used to solve allot of problems with out alto of trouble" Devin began to wonder if such a power had been used on him, had his decision to join Kesu was influenced by Thespian but thought beter of it.

A shurikan flew through the air and stuck into the surface of the table. A few seconds later, it was yanked out of the table and returned to Hyu;s hand, hopefully catching their attention.

Ozzy was really quite surprised "Woahh, you guvnors are bloody out of this world. I think this calls for a song, dont you, one of meeting and happiness?"
Ozzy pulled out his violin from the case and adjusted, the people around the shop watched with interest. He signalled to the piano player sitting there to the far left. He then started to play.

The people started to clap and cheer and he bowed to everyone

Devin wasn't amused at the singing but was very surprised at the shuriken "Sea stone eh? Even my metal would have trouble against that... if he had meant to hit one of us he definitely would have... who are you?"

"Excuse me sir, but who are you to ruin this table?" The Thespian asked in a mild tone. He was angry but rather wanted an explanation. "You have my attention. Now speak for the love of all things righteous!" He clapped for the song, but it was just a formality as he was on business rather than a leisure experience. "Are you interested in my crew? Or are you looking for trouble?"

Huh. They noticed. "Hyu Kiari." Hyu said simply and bluntly. "Heard 'Kesu' was looking to hire... Can I get in on that?"

"If you have combat abilities and the loyalty to follow my directions than yes you may join my crew. You need to show respect to your superiors and you also need a devil in your soul. We aren't boyscouts. We will be evil if it pays. Does everyone here understand this? If not then walk out right now. However, I assume that someone like you would have no problem with morality." The Thespian looked to Devin "Please keep track of the prospects who wish to join our crew."

Devin was as always on top of things "Hyu and Ozzy, the musician sword specialist and projectile expert" he said simply

Hyu sighed. "I can do that. And no, I have no problems with morals." He put away the shurikan, but kept hold of the knives.

The waiter came back with some drinks. "A toast to Kesu." He raised his drink upwards and then took a drink. He looked at Devin "do you think anyone else will join or should we just pack up for today?" He moved his right hand to his chin an rubbed the mask in a way that symbolized thinking.

Hyu halfheartedly followed suit. He did not need to speak, so he didn't.

Devin drank simply "well perhaps we should finnish eating" he said simply assessing the abilities and equipment of their team, each seemed to fufill a specific role but him.
