Serious: The Aurora Pirates Part 3: The Calm Before the Storm

Pyriss followed James to the ship. The ship was a tad bit larger than Pyriss's old ship, but it was not as wide. The construction wasn't much to brag about, but at least the ship looked durable. The ship had a few edits and reconstruction, Pyriss assumed someone was taking care of the ship. Pyriss wondered where the cook was, she was still a little hungry but not too much. She spotted James talking to someone? She wanted to know why they have not sailed yet. Pyriss counted the amount of people who had some connection to James, there was the creature, the person who did not trust her, and the man kind enough to offer a meal. Did he have four crew mates? Pyriss did not dwell on the amount of crew mates. Pyriss wondered a few things, like why did they stop at this island in the first place. She also deeply wondered why these people weren't in the Grand line like most pirates are.

She walked over to talk to James" Hey James, hmm I got used to your name already, and I just met you. Anyways, do you have four crew mates? Wait who are you yelling at?"

Pyriss went to see the person James was yelling at, he had seen a girl in a small boat? Pyriss already dropped her money, wrapping it and placed it somewhere on the ship. She already put her book where her money was. Pyriss jumped off the ship into the water. As she looked at the ship, she had seen a crack.

" Um, James did you always have a crack in the lower exterior of your ship?"

"Oh. Sht." Heiki muttered when she heard someone call out to her. "Sorry about that. I thought this was a ship of someone I knew," she laughed quietly. "I'm leaving now so don't worry about it."

Grabbing the oar, the girl gently kicked the ship to move her boat away. 'Hopefully I can get out of here before they find the crack.' Suddenly. one of the people on the ship jumped off into the water, splashing Heiki with the salty water.

"Um, James did you always have a crack in the lower exterior of your ship?" the girl in the water asked. Heiki started rowing faster to at least make it out of their sight before they found out. Afterall, she didn't want to start any fights.

(Ugitzu, I'm glad you mentioned the ship wasn't very large. I forgot to post the description of our new ship in the crew thread. We've had it since the end of the first Aurora Pirate's RP. By the way, while we're still on the subject of the crew thread, I might as well mention that it has been updated. Mostly I added bounties and brought all details up to date, but still, now it looks a little better.)

James frowned and leaned over the edge to see a crack in the side of the ship. "Um...no," he said. "That's new." Then he noticed the girl in the boat quickly rowing away. He quickly put two and two together and was waving at the escaping girl. "Hang on!" he shouted. "Did you do that?" He pointed down at the crack.

Pyriss hurriedly swam to shore. She submerged out of the water. She took time to dry herself off, before proceeding back on the ship. She looked for the chef once more. She thought she could get a decent meal, if she could find the metal easting chef. She didn't worry about James and the little girl it was none of her business. She smiled as she went into the chambers to dry off. Though she had no idea to which the chambers belong to. Though it wasn't the time to dwell on who owned a chamber owned by someone else who wasn't the leader of the crew. She sat on the bed, wondering what she was going to do later.

'Ignore him. Ignore him. Ignore him,' Heiki's mind chanted, rowing away at a steady pace. Atleast that was until she realized how tired her arms were... and it hadn't even been two minutes. "I'm really not fit for this navigating stuff. Am I?" she groaned to herself.

Whatever. The girl decided that she would fight if things got rough rather than keep rowing until her arms fell off. She threw the oar down."Um, mister," Heiki bluntly called out to the person on the ship. "Are you going to hurt me if I say yes? I don't really feel like rowing anymore."

(Sorry Ugitzu. Kagirinai is not the most active guy around here. He was on a lot at first, but I guess something else came up because he's only on once every few days or so. By the way, everyone, Keitaro has not been on in a while. I sent him a PM and he has not replied. I'll send him another PM, but if he does not come and join the crew today, or at least contact me, then we'll leave the island without him and go on to the next RP and on to the next battle.)

"Hurt you?" James looked surprised. "Well...that never actually occurred to me. I just wanted you to pay for this." He pointed down at the hole. Then he turned around to Jake. "Could you bring her back? From what she said, I think she's tired."

Kaori walked off the wharg, airwalking to the front of the rowing boat. "I'm just going to sit here until captain has dealt with you." He said.

Jake saluted.
"Aye, can do, captain!"
Then he set Henry down carefully and leaned him against the mast.
"Now, you just wait here Henry. I'll be right back."
The marine didn't hear, he was still unconcious. How very dissatisfying.
Jake sighed and jumped down into the ocean.
It didn't even take him a minute untill he had caught up with the boat.
"Hello there, little girl! I'm Jake, and I'll be bringing you to our ship now."
He doubted the girl wanted to get wet, so he simple grabbed the boat and dragged it back to the ship.

"Money?" Heiki dug through her pockets but stopped, remembering that she had some gold in the barrel next to her from the last group of pirates that tried to rob her. "I'll be losing some money, but rather lose that then my arm or something." Honestly, the girl doubted that she would lose an arm even if she didn't give them her money. They didn't seem like the cruel types.

Sudden one of the people on the boat walked toward her on air, surprising Heiki. 'A devil fruit user, probably,' she thought to herself.

"I'm just going to sit here until captain has dealt with you." he said, taking a seat in front of her. She felt a thump at the side of her boat and a fishman appeared. "What an interesting crew," she mumbled to herself, "but why does it feel like being taken to Enies Lobby." The girl looked at the man in front of her who almost seemed like a guard and the fishman in the water who seemingly took the role as her escort.

'Maybe I'll stay in this crew for a bit. They probably have a navigator which means more time for me to sleep.' The thought of sleep made her yawn.

She heard ruckus outside, what did they do to the girl? Probably nothing seeing as they are soft as a pillow, or should Pyriss say kind pirates. Pyriss went into the kitchen, assuming the guy was asleep or something. She picked out a few things from their refrigerator, nothing but an apply and a few carrots. She started to munch on them, coming outside once more. She looked to see everyone, occupied on doing something.

She went to James. She looked to see the creature, dragging her small boat to the ship. Wow, what strength he possessed, that strength was probably even greater than the captain of her former crew. Pyriss smiled, she wonders if this girl was going to board the ship. Looking at her closely, she looked incredibly familiar.

Since he had a minute to burn before they arrived at the ship, James ran down below deck to check out the hole. Water was leaking in, but it was obvious that the hole had just been made, which he had already assumed due to the fact that the girl hadn't gotten away yet. The hole itself was small and so James just nailed a couple of thin boards over it and filled in the cracks with the resin he kept around. He stepped back to admire his work. Not bad for a pirate captain. He laughed to himself a little before heading back up too speak with the girl.

James stared down at Asane. He frowned. She seemed almost familiar in a way.

"I check out the hole and got it fixed," he said to her. "If someone was paying me for this back home, I would have charged them one-hundred belli."

(I'm assuming belli are like dollars and so I figured out the cost from that.)

(Beli is much smaller than dollar.)

(Alright, I jacked it up some. But it wasn't a big job. He's mainly charging for materials. But some of it is for the whole two minutes he spent doing the work. )

"Wow, this is a nice ship that you have," Heiki stretched, putting down and sitting on the barrel she brought up. She closed her eyes to relax and take in the sun a little. When she opened her eyes, the man who seemed to be the captain of the ship was staring down at her. Strangely, he looked familiar. 'Is Karasu playing tricks on me again?' the girl rubbed the back of her head.

"I check out the hole and got it fixed," he said to her. "If someone was paying me for this back home, I would have charged them one-hundred belli."

"Back home? Were you a shipwright, mister?" Heiki grinned. "Well, I have more than enough to pay 100 belli, so I was wondering. Can I stay on this ship for a while? My boat is a little too cramped for me and your crew seem nice," she said, looking at the people around her.

Looking at the people on the ship closer, Heiki noticed that the girl on board also seemed a little familiar. 'Stupid Karasu. He better not being doing anything to confuse me,' the girl thought to herself, hitting the scarf that was around her neck. 'Now that I think about it. Karasu hasn't really been saying anything for a couple of days. Did too much sea water get into him?' She poked the scarf, then stopped, realizing that she probably looked like a lunatic at the moment.

"Well, what do you say, mister?" she coughed, acting as if whatever she did earlier didn't happen.

"Yeah," James said. "I was a shipwright. I spent several years working until I had enough money to set out and sail." James scratched the back of his head and frowned slightly. Why was he telling her all this? He tried too be polite to people most of the time, but he was a pirate. It wouldn't be wise to just go around telling everyone your backstory. He realized that the silence had gone on long enough and he continued, "Anyways, why should I let you stay on this ship? Do you have any particular skills that I should be aware of?"

"Why? Skills?" Heiki frowned. She was trying avoid work, but it would probably be really hard. While debating what to do, she got off the barrel and rolled it to one side of the deck. "I'm really good at freeloading," she smiled, taking a seat on the wood floor and leaning against the barrel. "If that's not good enough, I do have a decent knowledge over medicine." Heiki closed her eyes to show that she was already starting to settle down on the ship.

Jake jumped back up on deck.
"She's cute, let her stay."
That's why he souldn't be allowed to speak his mind. Or to be captain. He cleared his throat.
"I mean, we can use all the help we get, right? How about we let her travel with us for a week as a test, and decide then?"
Guri'd always do that... the other way around. If he'd decided that the crew they were in wouldn't be good enough, he'd sell them... But that... was... uh, unmoralic. Jake couldn't backstab a cute, helpless girl!

James decided that Jake's comment wasn't worthy of a reply. "Medicine, huh?" James sighed. "I suppose we do need a doctor...you know, something has been bugging me. I think I've seen your face before. What did you say your name was?"

Heiki smiled at the fishman's comment. "Thanks," the moment she said that, the scarf around her next tightened. 'Karasu, I know you probably don't agree, but that doesn't mean you should choke me,' she thought to herself, tugging at the scarf.

"You know, something has been bugging me. I think I've seen your face before. What did you say your name was?" the captain asked.

"Oh yea. My name is Heiki Asane. Nice to meet you all."

"Heiki Asane...." James whispered. Suddenly his right hand whipped upwards and he pointed at Asane, a look of shock on his face. "You...you're..." then he lowered his hand again and struck a thinking pose. "I have no clue who you are."

Pryiss overheard the girl introduce herself. Her last name was Asane. She lived in a place where the owners introduced themselves to be the Asane family. When Pyriss overheard them saying that they had a connection to you know who, she realizes that it was Sin. They lived there a week before Lucy got in a fight between the man she still couldn't remember and was killed by the marines. Pyriss tried to remember who this girl was. She was from that family that helped Lucy and herself, due to her name being Asane. Pyriss smiled as she walked to the girl.

She introduced herself,"" Nice to meet you Heiki, my name is Pyriss Ukitzu. I think I seen you before. I mean five years back some people called the Asanes took me and my friend in for a while, but that's all I can remember. You look younger than me so you must be their daughter or niece, since you have the same last name."

Pyriss still needed to go to this island where that shipwright had her engine. So, she asked James about it, " James, so are we sailing soon, because I need to go to this island to get something of mine. I'll happily navigate there and anywhere you want to go after I get my belonging."

When the guy who was suppose to be the captain suddenly pointed at her, Heiki hit the back of her head with the barrel by surprise. The feeling of familiarity had been on her mind for a moment, but she shook it off and concluded that they probably could figure it out later.

Then, the girl who also had a hint of familiarity walked up to her and introduced herself. "Pyriss Ukitzu. That sounds like the name of the girl who stayed over at my house for a while. Nice to meet you again." She simply greeted her although it surprised her a little to meet someone she knew. 'Well, we can catch up or something later,' she thought to herself.

Heiki reached into her pockets and pulled out 100 belli, tossing it to the man in front of her. "There's my pay for the ship. Oh, and could someone bring my boat on deck?."

James stared at Pyriss in amazement. "You can navigate? Great! We need a navigator if we're going to cross the Grand Line. So I guess we can take this little detour to pick up your stuff, then you will stay?" He turned around just in time to catch the money being tossed to him.

The girl, Heiki, said, "There's my pay for the ship. Oh, and could someone bring my boat on deck?"

"Sure," James nodded. "Jake! Bring it on up."

Jake jumped down to the girls boat again.... just after having jumped up on their ship. He started feeling a little like the errand boy. Which was less of a problem for him than he had expected.
He grabbed the girls stuff and jumped up on deck again.
He handed it to her and stood there for a while. He got the feeling he was forgetting something... Oh yeah, Henry!
He checked what he was doing, and was almost a little disappointed to find out he was still unconcious. So he sat down on the reling and waited for them to set sail.
