Serious: Untouchable Pirates: Chapter 5 - Honey Coated Cake

Not far, maybe a mile or so from the now sailing Untouchable was a large rubble of floating ship parts and a marine ship sailing away from it.

And there sat Aura, drifting on whats left of the ship she once owned, sailing aimlessly through the ocean on a few pieces of lumber that held itself in piece, chewing on what she had left of her bread loaf.

((wait this is Irrational's crew.... did he give you permission? (I have to ask its the rules... sort of...)))

Seryu had been instructed to keep watch on the horizon while Jackson and Stand took a nap. he peacefully watched the birds float by on the cool ocean breeze, clouds lazily slid over the sun, casting faint shadows on the silent waves. Then Seryu noticed a break in the unending blue surrounding him. Specks of brown and black peppered a small spot on the ocean ahead. He put down the container of mush he was fiddling with and leaned forward for a closer look Dang, we should have gotten a spyglass Seryu thought as he was unable to discern any details about the specks. He went down into the sleeping quarters and russled the Captain a few times "Hey captain, there's something odd up ahead. Mind if we go check it out?"

Aura sighs to herself, her bread now completely gone, and lies to, passing out slowly as she drifts left and right in the rubble.

Sleepy eyed, Jackson sat up and seemingly ignoring Seryu, he walked out onto the deck, eyes half closed. Shielding his eyes, Jackson looked towards the sky and let out a yawn. Stretching out his shoulders, he stood up straight, spun back around towards Seryu and seemed to be his usual self. "So where exactly is this unusual object?"

"Objects" Seryu corrected him, pointing a little to the left of the front of the boat. "Looks like someone blew up an island." Seryu continues, a little excited.

"You mean it looks like someone blew up a ship." Jackson said as he squinted. "Stand! Let's bring the ship over." Stand had at this point, already arrived on deck and began to adjust the sails. Grin across his face, Jackson strode over to the helm and gave it a good turn. "You have a good eye kid. Maybe we'll find something of value."

It didn't take too long for the Cerulean Wake to arrive amidst the wreckage with a good wind. Drawing in the sails to slow their travel, Jackson turned the wheel gently while speaking. "Stand, Seryu. Keep an eye out for anything we might have a use for."

"island sounded cooler" Seryu muttered to himself as he retook his position as lookout.

When they arrived Seryu scanned the wreckage. All the useful things, such as cannons, weapons, and appliances, had sunk to the depths. All the supplies were soaked beyond use. Seryu noticed something odd though. a few of the dry pieces of wood seemed to be coated in something yellow and... sticky... "Hey captains, check this out!" Seryu said picking up a piece of coated wood from the water. "What do you think it is?" Seryu asked eyeing the yellow substance.

Leaving the ship adrift, Jackson walked down to the deck and looked at the covered board. Stand was preoccupied looking over the ship's side. Laughing a little, Jackson spoke. "Well... it LOOKS like honey, but this far out at sea? Probably not." It was then that the doctor motioned them over. "Someone's in the water." Breaking his attention from the wooden board, Jackson ran the few feet to the edge of the boat and looked over the rail. There was indeed someone in the water, a woman at that. "Hey! Are you alive down there?"

Aura awaken in mid panic, forgetting exactly where she was, stumbling over near the edge of the plank before jumping up to her feet back in the center.

"Ahaha, of course!" she bluntly announces, waving carefreely at them, wiping any of the honey off her with ease with the other hand.

Seryu walked over "you don't look all right..." he said, eyeing the beaten girl, her hair a tangled mass soaked with sea spray. "Well i guess no one floating on a piece of wood would really look alright." He said smiling. "Need any help?"

Aura stands up straight, falling into a limp from her bleeding left leg. "Y-yeah...help would be useful"

Tossing a rope out, Jackson laughed. "Good thing we were in the area then! Grab on and we'll pull you in." Tying the other end to the rail, he waited for the girl to grab the rope.

Aura rushes over and jumps onto the rope, whimpering a little has her left leg hits the first step of the rope, slowly climbing up to the stop of it.

Seryu offered a hand to help her onto the deck. "Welcome aboard" he said, smiling. Then he turned his head. "hey Stand, could you look at her leg?"

Aura smiles back to him and grabs his hand, "Yeah, it does hurt pretty bad" she says, looking at the tiny pieces of wood and splinters in it.

Stand, being too tall to look down at Aura's leg, kneeled down. "Splinters could get infected." Getting to his feet, Stand turned and started to head towards the door in the bulkhead leading below deck, motioning to Aura. "Will you want anesthetic?" This question triggered a laugh from Jackson as he offered the girl a hand. You'll have to excuse him, he's very task oriented. Welcome to the Cerulean Wake, I'm caption Jackson. And I'd take the anesthetic if I were you."

"O-okay.." Aura weakly says, slowly getting used to everyone, taking Jackson's hand. "Anesthetics sound pretty good about now." Aura follows the doctor, turning to face the other two before entering the area he did, and with a smile says "Oh, by the way, I'm Aura", walking into the room afterwords

"Aura..." Seryu said in a quiet, dreamy voice. After she had dissapeared below deck with stand, Seryu truned to Jackson "She's cute!"

Laughing, Jackson returned to the helm. "A rare beauty indeed, but don't let it distract you. Raise the sails!"

It didn't take long for the doctor to finish his work. A metal dish nearby contained the splinters of various sizes. Walking over to a water basin, he started cleaning his medical equipment. "You can get up now. There's a crutch on the wall." On Aura's leg was a thick bandage. "The bone was not broken, but you did need stitches. Don't scratch."

"Sigh ok." Seryu said a little dejectedly. He then scampered up the mast and unfurled the sails. After they were loose, he jumped back down and tied off the rope to hold the sail at the desired angle. This caught a large gust of wing and the ship almost skipped forward. Seryu looked into the wind and smiled, Ahh this is the life, i love the ocean breeze!

( Sorry, just got home from work XD )

"Thanks for your help, and of course!" she says happily as she grabs the crutch and waltz upstairs to the deck. (I think I went downstairs.)

Aura walks a bit, to the middle mast and leans against it, sliding down into a sitting position, humming to herself gently.
