Name: "Stomping" Johnny Bataccio

Age: 52

Bounty: 16,000,000

Species: Human

Occupation: Captain of the "Slapstick Pirates"

Allegiance: Pirate (he's not loyal to his crew, his crew's loyal to him (or dead))

Home Village/Ocean: East Blue

Appearance: Johnny Bataccio is a man with long graying brown hair brushed to the back of his head; the length of his greasy locks stretches down past his nape and rests upon his shoulders.

History: Johnny's father was not there for his son for the first years of the young lad's life. The lack of a father figure is never positive, and Johnny could never forgive his father for his absence, but when the old bastard came crawling to his son for some assistance, the young Bataccio could not deny the blood bond they shared. The art of storytelling was the gift father gave his son. Bataccio learned the epic story of his father's quest as a marine to capture or kill the dreadful pirate youth Corkscrew, and the disastrous consequences of this mission. Supposedly, Bataccio's father lost his leg in a clash with the alleged Captain. The veracity of this story is unknown, but Bataccio Senior was, in fact, missing a leg.
Johnny's interest in story-telling (and desire to be like Captain Corkscrew) lead him to travel the seas, stopping at every tavern, inn, pub, and tequila stand possible to here the local legends. During this journey, Johnny learned where the best place to find a good story was- the bottom of a bottle. Johnny Bataccio's stories did improve as he indulged himself. For a time, Johnny was the most desired entertainer everywhere he went. Then he was abducted by a pirate crew. The popularity of his yarns was not ignored by a particularly unexcited pirate crew who were in between "jobs". Bataccio rose the ranks of this band of salty dogs by amusing the captain with his wits and casting aspersions on rookie shiphands. He invoked the jealousy of his compatriots who craved their captain's approval, and was marooned during a rum-raid. Still, there was a good side to every bad thing. While he had no food or clean drinking water for a week on a desert island, Bataccio did have a plentiful supply of rum. His captain ordered a return to the island to restock their supplies and snatch up the remaining alcohol. When he saw the vessel coming in, he hid in a barrel and stowed away aboard the vessel. Three or four dead shipmates later, no one was willing to look Bataccio in the eyes except for the captain, who was willing to ignore the murders if he heard the story of how it happened. Johnny agreed to re-enact the events for his captain, but his performance was too realistic and he threw another corpse overboard.
Johnny hoped to have control of the crew, but instead, the chief mate was made captain and he took the open number two spot. For roughly a decade, Johnny served his captain willingly while searching for the legendary pirate "Captain Corkscrew". When he wasn't raiding trade vessels, Johnny was raiding for information regarding his folk hero. Then, he finally found him.
The meeting place was a dive with watered-down conversations and worse drinks. Bataccio slipped over his tongue and insulted Corkscrew, who willingly kicked the ever-loving-shit out of his admirer. However, Bataccio escaped with his face nearly intact.
The wound scarred Johnny's face and never healed in his mind. He wanted to quit his career and retire in a tidepool of whisky after the disillusionment. Piracy was no longer a collection of exhilarating crimes and risky adventures but a monotonous chore to Johnny Bataccio. He made his disappointment clear to his captain, but Johnny's retirement was denied. Johnny was not happy at that. He beat the would-be pirate king to death and seized control of the new "Slapstick Pirates".
Since then, "Stomping" Johnny's crew roster has seen several revisions, but he has kept with him his loyal henchman, Chavo Maskim. For his dedication, Chavo was rewarded with the title of "chief mate".

Personality: Johnny Bataccio is an angry bastard with a lust for liquor. He waxes nostalgic over the days of his fool-hardy adventuring while drinking down a variety of different tonics. Unlike most, he does not hit the bottle as hard as he does to forget pain, he drinks because he can't be pained to try sobriety. After a traumatic bar-fight and subsequent injury, he lost all regard for human life. His hatred for "meat-sacks" has lead him to beat subordinates for his own amusement (he named his crew the slapstick pirates because of the humor he derived from doing injury to others) though he tends not to strike the more loyal henchmen of his without reason (however, his reasons can be flimsy). His favorite "crewmate" is Chavo Maskim, who he never calls by his real name. Bataccio's favorite method of quelling dissent is with a public execution (curb-stomping or burning inside a barrel). He has a harsh intensity to him, which comes from his blatant disregard for the safety of anyone besides himself. Still, the bastard he is, Bataccio has inspired loyalty in some of his crewmates through intimidation, violence, and the promise of reward for their questing. He has recognized the way people cling to heroes, and uses the legend of "Captain Corkscrew" to foster a sense of adventure in his merry band of henchmen. Sometimes, he even sings some of the ballads of Captain Corkscrew, and when he does, no ear is deaf to the tune. He has created an image of himself that the Slapstick Pirates subscribe to- a drunken warlord with a hair-trigger temper and ruthless power. He recognizes the fact that he is getting old, but is doing his damnedest to make sure no one else does.

Ship: the Killer's Joke

Ship Flag: The flag is a grinning white skull with a cracked right eye-socket on a black field. Crossed beneath the skull is the outline of a paddle and a bottle of liquor, both in white.

Special Abilities: Impressive Strength (comparable to a gorilla's) and incredible speed (as fast as an ocelot); however, he is limited by a low stamina (he can no longer last long battles) and dizziness. His marksmanship is less than adequate, as he lacks depth perception.

Learned Techniques (Keep it 1-25): NA (NPC)

Weapons/Items: a sturdy rowing oar, a brace of pistols, and a cane.

Goals: Amass a generous amount of treasure
