Appearance: Salem stands about 7'8 with a strong muscle build from years of fighting. He has a caramel toned skin color. Due to his efforts of becoming a hero, Salem has an erratic sense of fashion. He wears a lion's head piece on top of his head hiding his face. A red cape worn on his back. A large steel shield fixed on his left arm for protection. His wooden sword is hilted by his right hip. Salem wears black speedos underneath his pteruges, and brown sandals.

History: Salem was once an ordinary kid in the grand line who dreamed of becoming a superhero. His thirst for glory and heroism would play a vital part in his dream of becoming a police officer at the age of 19. His village was relatively peaceful with few criminals except for the occasional mountain bandit raid. During his service as an officer, Salem gained infamy as the "Crusader" for his pursuit for justice. He was able to defeat the Tyron Pirates who bounty surpassed 12,000,000 with only a hand full of men. Then the golden age of pirate began. Salem was offered an promotion to chief of police in preparation of the danger, but left for the marines believing his services would be more useful there. Salem rose among the ranks of the marines attaining the title of captain. However he soon began to realize the corruption and brutality of the world government.  It didn't matter if you were a criminal or a hero. Neither side cared about the causalities they were hurting in war. Innocent civilians were getting hurt from both sides. Salem resigned from the marines to become a bounty hunter. At first Salem was content apprehending criminals for their bounties. It allowed to service the public trust on his own terms without rules or regulations. Others then began joining him on cause. Many were just victims of pirate raids. Salem quickly realized that he was amassing an army. He then established the PVA as a refugee for all to join. Their cause is to protect civilians from the fallout between pirate and marines.

Personality: Salem is a heroic patriotic man who believes in fairness and justice. Unlike the marines who focus is the world at large, Salem protects the poor and the common. Unlike many of his subordinates, no pirate has ever harmed him personally, nor does he bare a grudge against them. Salem does however recognizes them to be a global threat that needs to be controlled. He also has very little tolerance for the marines, despite being former comrades. Salem recognizes that, while that the marines protect and serve the world, their extremisms and support of the world nobles have made them unfit for becoming a force for good. Salem doesn't recognize or obey the authority of the marines doing things his own way. Maybe because of this Salem has developed a gray area when discussing justice. He doesn't see the world in black and white similar to moral justice. Salem also doesn't believe in killing preferring that criminals are persecuted  in the courts.
