I'll just make this topic to save space. Heres one I just did for (i think its sethdeath's) ff7 rp site. It's not very clean, thats the problem with switching back and forth in paint. But heres my character:

I know, I tried to fix it, but i would have had to go over it all again. Screw that took me like an hour, good 'nuff.

so this one is more of a "color edit" than the others?

No i drew it all out in GIMP then copied and pasted it in paint. Then tried to color it in paint but didn't work out as well as the others. Probably cuz this one has a lot more detail.

Ive seen that Inage base before, are you sure your not traceing/overlaying?

I did for the nose to jaw and some of the hair. The hair pretty much looks the same, I tried my best not to make it identical but I really like that style. but yeah it does look TOO similar but im tired. Heres the reference:

ever done something compleatly from scratch?

Most of my stuff is. The Avery and Saint pics were. Just when i have trouble with something, or I cant get a line to look right, I'll overlay it.

no I mean compleatly from scratch as in no refrance picture (I have never used a refrance picture before, that might be easyer)

Referance is mostly just to help me with the light source and shading. Sometimes I try to make the same face/eye/noise shape or whatever. I have done things without one, but it is eaiser with one.

I hope not. The only ones I did overlaying on where the FF two, and that was only here and there. I look 'em over side by side.

Oh well. I didn't look at a single work of Oda's while making that one. I guess it's because I always try to make it look like something the original artist would actually draw. Maybe I go a little over board and make copies of their characters , but I'm just trying to keep with their style. May I'll do a step by step guide in paint next...

I didn't use any base on the last one, and it still ended up like blonde luffy. But that does look like a good source. Thank you.

Sorry man, I'm already spreading my creativity too thin. Between the couple of rp's im in, the books im trying to write and fall semester starting, I don't think i'll have time for the FF site right now. Sorry again
