Tenma A. Swig Empty
PostSubject: Tenma A. Swig   Tenma A. Swig Icon_minitimeSat Apr 25, 2015 5:58 am

Name: Tenma A. Swig (Swig being the first name)

Epithet: The Unbreakable (Former), The Fossil (Current)

Theme:

  • Casual:
  • Battle:

Age: 131 (Doesn't look a day over 60)

Bounty: 0B (Former: 10,000,000B)

Species: Human

Occupation: It being Swig's second go at piracy, he can navigate through most Blues and the Grand Line by memory. Thanks to the fact that his powers forced him to become vegetarian, Swig also learned to cook himself some decent food, though he will only cook vegetarian food.

Allegiance: Pirate (Blazing Pirates formerly, Winner Pirates currently.)

Home Village/Ocean: Roshi Island, East Blue

Appearance: Swig spent the last 100 years of his life in prison, and he certainly looks like he did. Who used to be a neat, well-built fighter is now an incredibly old man. Despite his age, Swig walks with a straight back, making his height a whooping 2.5 meters. However, he is incredibly skinny, weighting only 70 kilograms (Which is pretty much nothing considering his height). On his head Swig sports an incredibly bushy mane of grey hair, tangled messy and spiky from years of neglection. His hair reaches all the way down to his knees, and on the other end adds about 30 centimeters to Swig's already ridiculous height. He has a pair of faintly green eyes that are partially closed as long as he isn't too mad or excited, with wrinkles of old age surrounding them (And the rest of his pale skin). His long nose is dented at its bridge after being broken years ago at a cell-block rumble. He has a big mouth with several missing teeth and a long grey goatee growing from his chin. He wears a long green robe that he wore when he was first imprisoned. Its sleeves cover Swig's arms entirely, going over his hands and dangling along his sides. Under his open robe, Swig wears a short pair of black pants and a black shirt, along with a pair of wooden sandals on his feet.

In his Tortoise Point, Swig takes the form of a small tortoise, with its shell maintaining the bright green color of Swig's robe and his grey goatee still showing on his chin. He can still speak in this form, although his speech is slow and lazy.

In his Hybrid Point, Swig becomes pretty monstrous. He grows a titanic turtle shell on his back, making him slouch with its sheer weight. His skin becomes dark green and rough, with durable panels similar to his shell covering his knuckles and feet. His hair disappears from his now reptilian head (although the goatee persists) and his eyes turn yellow. The teeth vanish from his mouth and his nose is reduced to two slits in his face. His neck becomes longer his ears disappear as well (although he can still hear through dents in his skull).

History: "PRISONERS OF BLOCK D! STEP AWAY FROM YOUR BARS AND STICK THE OTHER SIDE OF YOUR CELLS!" a metallic voice shouted through a set of speakers embedded in the walls of the underground cell block, known as Block D, or even better known as "The end of the line". The block got its name thanks to the type of prisoners that occupied it. When a pirate was sentenced to life in prison, he was sent to Block D to basically rot slowly. If you happened to see the inside of a cell in the block, it was obvious that you won't get to see the outside of the prison walls ever again, as you'd simply die of old age before your punishment is through. As a result, the block was filled with a mixture of young pirates and criminals who were just jailed, or old pirates who simply waited for their time to come. A depressing place indeed. The prisoners in the block muttered and murmured as they stopped whatever they were doing at the moment to step away from the bars of their cells and the corridor that was on their other side. They all knew the meaning of the command: The Warden was visiting their block, and they all followed the command blindly. All but one.

"ATTENTION!" a shout echoed through the corridor as the two guards who stood in its end cleared the door and saluted to a man who walked in. She was a short, wide-built marine commodore with a cigar in her mouth and a long sword strapped to her back. She had pale blond hair tied to a ponytail and a frown so dark it cased the prisoners in the cells next to her shiver. "At ease" Commodore Floman barked as she entered the block with four other marine soldiers following her, dressed in the uniform of Gold Walls prison. Her eyes were fixed on a specific cell down the corridor, and her frown grew darker. The sound of her footsteps echoed through the corridor as strolled along it, refusing to look at any other cell. She stopped next to the cell she was eyeing, her guard stopping a few meters behind her. The walls of the cell were covered with carvings, marks that counted the days spent inside the cell by her eldest prisoner. There was a mark for each day, and she knew exactly how many there were - 36500, a hundred years worth. Inside the cell, along with a wooden bed and a toilet, was a man. He was sitting in the middle of the cell, his legs crossed and his eyes closed. He was wearing a prisoner's grey uniform that matched the color of the wild mane of grey hair he had on his head. His head was tilted back and a bubble was growing and shrinking inside one of his nostrils.

"WAKE UP D-107!!!" The warden scream, her face turning red with anger and her cigar dropping to the floor. The man inside the cell was caught by surprise. His bubble popped and he fell backwards from his sitting position, a surprised expression on his face. It took him a few seconds to get used to the fact that he was awake before rolling back to his sitting position, eyeing the woman who stood outside of his cell. "I figured that by now you'll know my name warden..." The man complained. The warden did not respond. Usually she would have come up with a smart remark before throwing her most hated prisoner into a dungeon, but today she hated him too much to even come up with a response. She simply stared at him, her face becoming redder, her teeth grinding and her clenched fists shaking with rage. "...Today's the day, isn't it?" The man inside the cell asked cheekily as he glanced at the very last mark he carved into his wall that morning. The warden couldn't take it any longer. She turned away form the man and towards her guards, who took a step back in fear of her obvious rage. "Bring him up..." She ordered silently as she marched past them and out of the block's corridor. "Prisoner D-107! On your knees, face the wall, hands behind your back!" A guard ordered the man in the cell as he took a key out of his pocket, while the guard next to him took out a pair of seastone cuffs. "Yes sir..." The man in the cell answered sarcastically as he followed the orders.

A few minutes and several flights of stairs later, the prisoner from block D was thrown at a chair inside the warden's office, facing her desk. She was there, sitting at her chair, with a tall red-haired marine rear-admiral standing next to her. He took a day off his normal duties to arrive at the prison that day, only to face the man with the same frown the warden had down at the block. On the warden's desk, a file folder rested, with the dates written on it dating more than a hundred years back, along with a name: "Tenma A. Swig". Inside the folder were old documentation of crimes committed by the prisoner. The prisoner, who still felt sick from the seastone handcuffs that were still around his hands, eyed the rear admiral with a smug grin. Nothing, even seastone, could ruin his day.

"Prisoner D-107, Tenma A. Swig" The warden spoke with a shivering voice as she opened the file. "Born on Roshi Island of the East Blue. Son of Samuel and Jin Tenma. After losing your parents in a barn fire you left Roshi Island to join your delinquent childhood friend Bosco as a pirate. A former pirate in The Blazing Pirates crew, in which you've come to possess a devil fruit. As a member of the Blazing Pirates, you were charged with their crimes, including: arson, robbery, vandalism, resisting and escaping arrest, murder..." The warden read as she turned pages in Swig's file, becoming sicker with every page she went through. "... For these crimes, you were given a bounty of 10,000,000B. After you and your crew were traced by three marine units in the Grand Line, a battle occurred, in which many brave marine soldiers found their death, along with marine Captain John "The Sonic" Cobalt. You and your crew were successfully captured at the end of the battle. When brought to justice in Marineford, Captain Cobalt's father - Vice Admiral Cobalt, demanded that you and your crew will be imprisoned instead of executed, so you'll, and I quote, 'Rot slowly in a jail cell'" She read, with Swig not paying much attention. "... You were sentenced to a hundred years in Block D of Gold Walls prison..." She read, before Swig stopped her and finished her sentence: "On this day a hundred years ago".

He then turned to the rear admiral again. "You know, when Vice Admiral Cobalt arrogantly asked that we will be imprisoned instead of executed, I rose to speak. I told him he was an arrogant fool, and that his great grandchildren will regret his stupidity. In return, I was punched in the face" Swig said, showing the teeth missing from his mouth. "Today, it seems like I was right. You do look a lot like that red-haired idiot, Rear Admiral Cobalt" Swig added, looking straight into the eyes of the great grandson of the man who made him watch his entire crew slowly die all around him. Who made him watch from a musty prison cell as a hundred years went by. The Rear Admiral's face turned redder. He raised his hands and struck the warden's table, breaking it in half as he did. "Finish the file Commodore" He hissed, eyeing Swig. The warden continued: "Seeing as you've served the entirety of your punishment without any problems, misbehaving or escape attempts, you are hereby released from Gold Walls, with your bounty removed". When she finished, closed the file and turned to the Rear Admiral. "Get him out of my sight..." He hissed, and two guards jumped Swig and grabbed him by his hands and shoulders. "SO LONG SUCKERS!!! I'M FREE!!! KAAAAAKAKAKAKAKA" Swig laughed madly as he was carried by the guards out of the room and towards a marine ship that was waiting for them at the port, ready to take Swig to his predetermined destination.

Inside the warden's office, the Rear Admiral watched as Swig was taken by the guards, before turning to his assistant. "I want this man tailed! I want to know about every move he makes! Once a pirate - always a pirate! And he'll slip eventually. When he does, I'll make sure he'll ROT!".

Personality: Before he was imprisoned along with his crew, Swig was a pretty ruthless pirate. The death of his parents had a huge impact on him. He had a lot of anger and absolutely no one to aim it at. So aimed it wherever, and being a part of a pirate crew allowed him to do just that. He stole, fought and killed simply because he wanted to. After eating his devil fruit, his personality changed a little, making him calmer. However, the worst parts were still there.

That part of Swig's personality changed after he was sentenced to spend the theoretical rest of his life behind bar. Prison has a lot of effects on a prisoners psyche, especially if he spends no less than a 100 years there. It starts by going mad. One can only stare at a wall for so long before doing so. It took several months in Swig's case, who was pretty broken to start with. However, with a hundred years to spend in prison, Swig had all the time in the world to go mad, return to sanity, and go mad all over again, as many times as he'd like. After the first few years in prison, the wall he was staring had started to change him completely. The first thing Swig abandoned as a result was the importance of time, which is the only logical thing a prisoner for life can do. He knew exactly where he'll sleep every night, where he'll wake up, and how his days will look a hundred years in advance. Every single day had absolutely no meaning. To this day, Swig has absolutely no concern for his or other people's time. He has an endless amount of patience,  and can sit and do absolutely nothing for months without being bothered by it.

The second thing Swig abandoned was respect and concern for his own life. Inside the prison, Swig watched his entire crew slowly die of old age as he stayed behind. He had to sit there and watch an endless amount of new prisoners step into his block, knowing that they'll all die before him, and he'll be there to watch. He watched guards and wardens being hired, promoted and replaced too many times for him to count. He knew very well that he was a dead man walking, and that his time passed long ago. Today, the last thing that scares Swig is dying. However, he'd hate seeing another friend of his die in front of him, gladly sacrificing himself if necessary.

Today, after his release, Swig roams the earth as a tourist. Pretty much everything is new to him. Every food is worth tasting, every sight is worth seeing, every person is worth meeting, every experience is new and exciting. The anger and cruelty that characterized him before prison were replaced by curiosity and a happy-go-lucky attitude. He's still capable of violence when angered, but most of the time he'll simply be a lovely grandpa who casually enjoys the fact that he's still alive.

Ship: A small boat which the captain currently uses for traveling.

Ship Flag: A smiling jolly roger with a big afro.

Devil Fruit: Kame Kame No Mi
Type: Zoan
Effect: The Kame Kame No Mi allows Swig to switch between three main forms: A human form, a tortoise form and a hybrid form. It also supplies him with a longer lifespan and a few partial changes as well.

Special Abilities:

Enhanced Life Span and Slow Aging: Thanks to his devil fruit, Swig ages at a much slower rate than normal humans, and has a ridiculously long life span as a result. This fact allowed him to live out his 100 years of prison. Unless something other than old age will kills him first, Swig is expected to live until he's about 300 years old.

Devil Fruit Mastery: Swig has about 102 years of experience with his devil fruit. Even though a 100 of them were spent inside a jail cell, they still offered him a good chance to get to know his Zoan powers better. Aside from being able to switch between his 3 basic transformations, Swig has the ability to partially transform as well. The most notable capabilities of his power are retracting his limbs and head info his body even while in human form, and cover parts of his body with an extremely durable turtle shell at will. In addition, Swig's shell is much more durable than an average turtle shell, protecting him from anything weaker or equal in force to direct cannon fire in some forms. His Zoan also supplies him with enhanced physical strength to carry his extremely heavy shell around.

Learned Techniques (Keep it 1-25):

  • Green Cannon: In any form, Swig will retract one of his limbs into his body, only to shoot it out again with extreme force to deliver a punch or a kick that can easily send a grown man flying. Like most of Swig's attacks, this move is strongest in Hybrid Point.
  • Green Skin: In any form, Swig can grow turtle shell plating anywhere on his body (excluding limbs and head), providing him with Tekkai-like defense.
  • Green Takeoff: In any form, Swig can retract his legs into his body, and shoot him out with force to propel himself in a single direction. This allows him to jump to decent heights and move and reasonable speeds (Nothing close to Geppo or Soru, only enough to cover for his slow movement in a fight).
  • Green Saucer: This is a combination move that Swig can't pull on his own. By changing into his Tortoise Point, Swig reduces his weight, allowing a nearby ally to toss him towards the enemy. Retracting his limbs inward, Swig then acts as a flying frisbee made of highly-durable turtle shell.

Additional Transformation Points:

  • Fortress Point: Swig's first and only full-scale transformation outside of the main three basic ones. This transformation is only accessible to Swig when he is terrified, and is usually triggered when he is facing a life-threatening danger. In this point, Swig simply turns into a car-sized turtle shell. Neither his limbs nor his head are showing at all, and his voice is simply echoing out of the depth of the shell when he speaks. While in this form, Swig can't perform any techniques. The gigantic shell increases Swig's weight 15 fold, rounding him up to about a ton. This makes it impossible for him to move, but provides him with next to unbreakable defense (As strong as reinforced steel), easily sustaining direct cannon fire without a scratch. Considering the weight, this form shouldn't be taken while on a ship, as it will probably make it sink.

Weapons/Items: None

Character Flaws: As a result of having absolutely no respect for time, Swig can incredibly lazy most of the time. Despite his will to see and live everything he missed, he is in no rush to do so.

Goals: Make up for his 100 lost years in prison by getting the most out of his life, seeing everything he missed.

Everything looks fine to me so, I approve this character. However, I would like other admins/mods to check the char as well as he is going to be a part of my crew and I think the opinion of another admin/mod is necessary.

Just how unbreakable is fortess point? Please give an item that would be comparable in strength to the shell.

Well, I'd say a tank, which should be pretty breakable in the One Piece world once you step out of the blues and into the Grand Line. I think the best example will be to compare it to a Tekkai user who knows what he's doing. Breakable, but not easily breakable.

Edited to include Cob's specification to Fortress Point. Also, the transformation is now only accessible when Swig is facing a life-threatening danger. Also changed the Turtle Catapult technique to match the new limitations.
