any anime recomendations?

I think I need to watch some other anime.
I'm currently into Death Note, but what can you recommend?
Things I like in anime are:
Action
Storyline
Mains and villains(are the mains cool? Do the villains occasionally win?)
comic relief(is there comic relief that's funny?)

Things I dislike in anime:
yaoi and/or yuri(I can tolerate both to a point...if it goes too far, then I'm out.)
Fights that take 27 episodes to complete(example: DBZ, and sometimes naruto)

I hope you can recommend some good ones!

Gohan, when I first liked anime, I was a DBZ/Yu yu fan!
But, I moved on to other things.

I watched DBZ.... when I was nine.... Its not bad, I didnt really like yu yu but I loved hunterxhunter which is by the same guy, oh and Ginga densetsu weed is good to

Yu Yu Hakusho is legendary, I am very surprised that you feel this way.

Dragon Ball Z is legondary and I hate that, never watched Yu Yu hakasho and dont really plan to. Just to clerify things, I dont like DBZ because its anoying, all they ever seem to do is talk and when they do fight, its just screaming twitching buldging and growing there hair, every so often they might fly in the air and "Fight" but there moving so fast that all you can see is them popping up at random places throwing punches. Dont try to tell me Im wrong, I used to watch the show all the time. The whole anime isjust a who has the biggest dick contest.
