Life Return: Bones Empty
PostSubject: Life Return: Bones   Life Return: Bones Icon_minitimeThu Aug 18, 2011 12:52 am

Technique list name: Life Return - Bones
Overview: Life Return is a rare skill that works to boost the user’s control over their own bodies to extensive levels. These powers can range from control over the digestive system to control over the lungs, or even over hair. These techniques were developed specifically to control the skeletal system, the support structure of the body. With these techniques, bones grow stronger, are easily repaired, and can even change size to a certain extent.
User: Universally accessible.
History: The Life Return is a very unusual ability which focuses on total self mastery, it is said that one can unlock such a state by hours of meditation and intense physical training but it may be possible to learn this ability from other means. Though no standardized method or teaching the Life Return exists, it is popular among the Navy and World Government officials, who typically face pirates with Devil Fruits. These specific techniques were learned to help the user’s body’s core become far more stable and easily defended, and so the bones become less of a liability against opponent with a lot of brute strength.
Techniques:

-Level Zero-

Name: Bone Advancement
Type: Life Return
Description: The user of this technique has simply made their bones ‘better’. The user’s bones have grown slightly tougher, slightly lighter, and more resistant to breakage.
Effect: The user of this technique is slightly lighter, a bit more agile, and more durable to attacks.
Level learned: Zero
Stat Requirements: 5% Skill, 5% Talent

-Level One-

Name: Bone Density -Basic-
Type: Life Return
Description: The user has packed additional calcium into their bones, helping to toughen up their bones further. This makes the user slightly heavier, though it isn’t too noticeable… yet.
Effect: The user of this technique becomes more heavy, though they are able to defend themselves better from blunt damage.
Level learned: One
Stat Requirements: 7% Skill, 6% Talent

Name: Calcium Storage
Type: Life Return
Description: The user decides to store away some spare calcium for later and more powerful techniques, creating a special storage area for calcium attached to the inward facing part of one of their vertebrae.
Effect: Allows the user to have a store of calcium on hand to perform later techniques with.
Level learned: One
Stat Requirements: 8% Skill, 7% Talent

-Level Two-

Name: Bone Size -Basic-
Type: Life Return
Description: The user of this technique has become capable of manipulating the size of their bones to a small extent, able to make them shrink or grow by about an inch.
Effect: The user is able to increase and decrease their size by a smidge by changing the size of their bones.
Level learned: Two
Stat Requirements: 10% Skill, 8% Talent

Name: Calcium Recycling
Type: Life Return
Description: Everyone knows that to be efficient, the best way is to reuse, reduce and recycle, and if the Bone Size technique reduces, this one recycles. This technique reuses any and all calcium used up by basically any tech further down on this tree.
Effect: The user doesn’t need to drink or eat calcium rich foods in order to use later techniques and compensate for lost calcium.
Level learned: Two
Stat Requirements: 12% Skill, 9% Talent

-Level Three-

Name: Bone Unfracture
Type: Life Return
Description: Constant stress is place upon the bone, causing strain and occasionally cracks and small fractures in the bone’s material. This technique fixes that little problem, fixing any and all cracks that occur in the bones, resulting in healthier bones.
Effect: Makes small fractures no longer a problem, so that if a small crack in the bone occurs, the bone won’t become weakened and forced open by a later strike.
Level learned: Three
Stat Requirements: 15% Skill, 10% Talent

-Level Four-

Name: Bone Density -Medium-
Type: Life Return
Description: The user has taken Bone Density -Basic- to the next level, packing additional calcium into their bones and hardening them further, giving additional endurance boosts to the user’s bones.
Effect: The user’s bones become more durable and become less susceptible to breakage. Now it’d take a decent amount of blunt force trauma to crack bones at this level.
Level learned: Four
Stat Requirements: 15% Skill, 11% Talent

Name: Spare Bones -Minor-
Type: Life Return
Description: Sometimes bones get broken in the middle of battle, and you just can’t set them properly. So what do you do? Simple: Life Return users use spares. This technique gives the user some well-hidden spare, temporary bones to use as replacements for their smaller bones, like their fingers, until the user has had time to fix themselves up properly.
Effect: Allows the user to continue fighting, even if the bones in their hands or feet have been broken, due to said bones being replaced by spares.
Level learned: Four
Stat Requirements: 18% Skill, 12% Talent

-Level Five-

Name: Bone Size -Medium-
Type: Life Return
Description: Bone Size -Basic- has been improved in this technique, allowing the user to modify the size of their bones a little more, up to half a foot by either shrinking or enlarging the bone.
Effect: The user is able to either increase or decrease their height by up to half a foot.
Level learned: Five
Stat Requirements: 20% Skill, 15% Talent

Name: Bone Knitting
Type: Life Return
Description: Sometimes, bones break in half. It’s rare, but it happens. This stops being a problem for a Life Return user once they reach this level of skill, because they can take their bones and stick them right back together. This mending isn’t permanent, but it certainly helps keep the bones in place so that they can set properly.
Effect: Broken bones are immediately set ‘the right way’, making complete bone breakages less of a problem. This also allows the user to keep fighting without screaming in intense pain, though, understandably, the broken bone cannot be used as anywhere near as well as it could when it’s not broken.
Level learned: Five
Stat Requirements: 23% Skill, 17% Talent

-Level Six-

Name: Bone Repair
Type: Life Return
Description: Though the user’s bones have become pretty sturdy due to Life Return, the bones can still be broken: they’re not superhuman yet. These breakage problems can be fixed with Bone Repair, which fixes bone breakages in less than three posts, with it taking five posts to fix the biggest breakages.
Effect: The user is able to mend their bones extremely easily, making bone breakages a problem of the past.
Level learned: Six
Stat Requirements: 25% Skill, 18% Talent

-Level Seven-

Name: Bone Density -Advanced-
Type: Life Return
Description: The user’s bones have improved further, full of so much calcium and hardened to the point it would take superhuman strength to break these things (or a dropped house, that could work too). They have received a lot of attention and time, and now getting punched with a fist made of these bones would be like being hit with stones.
Effect: The user’s bones are extraordinarily durable, and capable of taking a lot of hits and damage without breaking, though, of course, they can still be broken by a powerful enough person.
Level learned: Seven
Stat Requirements: 30% Skill, 20% Talent

Name: Spare Bones -Major-
Type: Life Return
Description: Spare Bones -Basic- covered the small bones: this one covers the large bones. There are spare bones made for the arms, legs, and several ribs, so if the bones DO break, they can be ‘replaced’ for a short while by the spare bones.
Effect: The user is able to temporarily replace any broken bone with a ‘spare’, so that they can continue fighting (or run away) for a while longer.
Level learned: Seven
Stat Requirements: 30% Skill, 20% Talent

-Level Eight-

Name: Bone Size -Advanced-
Type: Life Return
Description: The user is able to change the length of their bones a remarkable amount, able to either grow or shrink up to a full foot.
Effect: The user of this technique is able to modify their height a large amount, in order to help change their identity (when mixed with other Life Return techniques).
Level learned: Eight
Stat Requirements: 35% Skill, 22% Talent

Name: Bone Replacement
Type: Life Return
Description: If for some god awful reason the user of Life Return has lost a bone, they don’t have to worry: they are able to fully regrow their bones! Smaller bones, like finger bones, only take twenty posts to recover, but larger bones take full threads to regenerate.
Effect: The user is able to recreate bones they’ve lost, presumably because said bones were pounded into dust.
Level learned: Eight
Stat Requirements: 35% Skill, 25% Talent
