PostSubject: Risty (Snow Pirates)   Risty (Snow Pirates) Icon_minitimeTue Nov 30, 2010 10:59 pm

Name: Risty

Age: 10

Bounty: 27,000,000

Species: Human

Occupation: Informant for the Snow Pirates

Allegiance: Pirate

Home Village/Ocean: Unknown/Living in North Blue when she was found

Appearance: A tiny girl, only about 4’5”. She has dark brown eyes and short, brown hair that stops halfway above her shoulders. Her skin is very pale from lack of sunlight. She usually wears a slightly too large blue coat, over a light blue t-shirt, and white pants. She does not usually wear shoes unless it is really cold. At her side she wears a pouch that is full of needles and has a single knife slid into a separate holder.

History: Risty does not remember where she came from. Her earliest memory is of screaming and buildings burning. She remembers being grabbed and carried away from that place and spending a long time on a boat, but that’s about it. Since that time, she has been living in a secret chamber up at the top of a tower. The chamber is rather large. It has a bedroom, a bathroom, and a huge living room with thousands of books piled not just on bookshelves but on each other as well, several comfortable chairs for reading in, and a table in the corner where she ate her meals. Risty did not live alone, although she felt like that sometimes. She did have a couple of friends. There was an elderly couple, who lived in the tower beneath her. They were the ones who brought her food and took care of her. They also brought her books, hundreds of books, for her to read. Risty had everything she would ever need in that place. The only thing they would not give her was companionship. Sure, they would talk to her and spend time with her, but she had no one her age to talk to.

One day, when she was ten, Risty left the tower while the elderly couple was off visiting some friends in the village. She began to wander through the village that she lived in for most of her life, but had never really seen, and she explored all throughout it. She did this a couple more times, growing more eager to explore each time. On her fourth time out in the village, a local boy, who was only twelve, caught up to her and began asking who she was. He had seen her around the village on her walks, but despite knowing everyone else in the village he did not recognize her. Risty had never been told what to do in a situation like this and so she simply gave him her name and told him where she lived. The boy was surprised to learn about her living up in a tower by herself, but he didn’t question her about it. He told her his name, which was Felix. The two of them spent the rest of the day with each other, talking and playing. Several hours later, Risty realized that the couple who took care of her must have returned home already and so she said goodbye to her new friend and rushed home only to find the couple panicking, searching for her. They hugged and scolded her after seeing her and told her never to leave like this again. Risty asked them why she couldn’t leave and at long last, they explained things to her.

Risty was the daughter of not just one, but two historians. These historians were an offshoot from a royal family from an island in the South Blue. In fact, Risty was born in the South Blue. However, Risty’s parents were killed by Marines when they became involved in trying to find out about the Void Century. Not only them, but also the rest of that royal bloodline was massacred as a warning to stay away. Risty was the only survivor and this was due to the efforts of three people: The captain of the guard and the two advisors to the royal family. The advisors were the ones who had been taking care of Risty for all this time. The royal guard had returned to the island to see if he could locate any other surviving members of the royal family. Before he left, he ordered the two advisors to take Risty to somewhere safe. Somewhere far away from their old home. And so they took Risty up to the North Blue. They gave her a new name, since she was not old enough to remember her old one, and they took on new names of their own. Since then they had lived on this island mixing with the people as best they could. Risty had been hidden away in their home and had not been outdoors for approximately eight years.

The elderly couple told Risty that she should stay indoors from now on. Risty obeyed their wishes and her friend wondered what had happened to her. He asked his father about her, but his father didn’t have an answer for him. Now curious, the father began investigating. He found out that the couple had come from the South Blue and he learned that they had come to the North Blue shortly after a few historian exterminations. Now very interested, he began delving into their lives as much as he could and finally, he connected their appearances to some old bounty posters he had found in a book of criminals who had never been caught. Since this man was a great supporter of the Marines he called them to the island and directed to the home of these people. Felix learned about what his father had done and he went to go warn his new friend. While this was going on a pirate ship pulled into the island’s harbor. The Snow Pirates had come. Risty’s caretakers were executed on the spot after they had been identified, but the Marines were hesitant to kill Risty. They decided to take her back to their superiors to let them decide. Felix arrived to late to save Risty and he pursued the Marines down to the docks, taking a shortcut to head them off. He arrived at the harbor first and found the Snow Pirates there. Felix begged the Snow Pirates to help him out, but the captain, Alice Cook, dismissed him. Then her first mate, Edmund, told her that he would help the child. So after some arguing, Alice agreed that he could do it, provided that he did it alone. The Marines arrived at the docks and Edmund attacked them. It didn’t take him long to overcome them and free Risty. He took the girl to the ship and the Snow Pirates left quickly. Felix and his father were commended on finding out about the criminals. No one found out about how Felix had asked the Snow Pirates to help save Risty so he was safe. Although Alice was initially reluctant to let her join, Risty stayed with the Snow Pirates and decided help them with her extensive knowledge of the world.

Personality: Risty is a shy, quiet girl. Her social skills are greatly lacking due to her isolation. Not that she is rude to people, but she just doesn’t know what to say or do. Risty has a great curiosity. Since most of her experience of life is through books, she tries to learn those things that books could not really teach her. For example: What does a fishman feel like?
