PostSubject: Bryce McEnroe   Bryce McEnroe Icon_minitimeTue Oct 05, 2010 1:42 pm

Name: Bryce McEnroe
Age: 19
Bounty: 60,000,000 Beli (Reason for Bounty: Killing Civilians)
Species: Human
Occupation: Marksman
Allegiance: Pirate
Home Village: Kenstonia, East Blue

Appearance: Bryce is a fairly short, skinny youth, standing at about 5'2" and 95lbs. He has a slightly long, thin face with a few scattered freckles, mid-length light brown hair, brown eyes, and pale skin. His front teeth are just a tiny bit too big, giving him a slightly mousy look. He normally wears a white fitted baseball cap with a curved brim bearing a picture of a red bullseye, as well as a white t-shirt with sky blue short-sleeves and collar. Medium-tight bluejeans and white running shoes complete his standard outfit. The way he wears his cap and holds his head, his eyes are almost never visible. A pair of guns hang across his back; a shotgun hangs to the left and a rifle to the right.

History: Growing up in a big family, Bryce never had much "Me" time. Always it was one family member or another getting between him and the attention he longed for from others. Eventually, this began to wear on him; by the time he was 12, he'd had enough of it.

Realizing that there was a lot of attention to be garnered in acting out, Bryce threw himself into it with all of his might. Bullying other children, stealing, raising scenes in the market; whatever he could do to get into trouble, he did. Over time, his family and the local villagers became slick to his scheme and began ignoring him. They'd placed their bets on him not acting out so bad that they'd have no choice but to respond, and eventually tiring of his games and becoming a decent kid. For a while, they were right.

One day, more by accident than design, Bryce severely injured another child. There was an immediate swell of reaction from the other children and, later, the adults. While he'd been upset over the event at first, it very quickly occurred to him just how much attention the whole incident had gotten him. Unfortunately, he'd also received a long spell of harsh punishment by way of a ten month stay in a correctional school. The teen spent the entire time planning for his return to the village.

His accidental discovery had taught him two lessons, the first: nobody pays attention like when you hurt somebody, and the second: get away with it. It was during his time at the correctional school that he discovered his talent for marksmanship; by feigning good behaviour and obedience, he'd earned himself the good graces of a local huntsman who took him out all the time to practice. When Bryce returned to his home he behaved himself for a time, played nice with his brothers and sisters and friends. He also continued practicing his shooting until he was as good as he could get with the guns he'd got.

At the age of 16, Bryce attended a community social. Everybody in the small village had gathered there, save for a few craftsmen and older folks. Everyone was having a wonderful time: the children were playing and dancing, the older folk watching them enjoying themselves, some even stepping onto the floor as well. Bryce watched the whole night unfold before him with intense interest. As usual, nobody paid attention to him; he remained in the corner, average, invisible. Halfway through the night he changed that forever.

Nobody noticed him slip out the door, nobody noticed him as he spent an hour sealing off all the windows and doors to the hall save the front. Nobody noticed him come back in, either...until he fired the first shot. The band stopped playing, the room went deathly silent. The town's only military man, an affable old fellow well loved by the community, fell dead out of his chair. A screaming panic went up amongst the women and children, and the men rushed to stop their assailant. In a moment of pleasure he would never forget, Bryce witnessed the reaction of the room as they finally noticed who their assailant was...as they finally noticed him.

By then, nobody could do anything. Bryce was holding a hostage. An innocent, sweet young girl by the name of Serrah; of all the people in the entire village, even including his family, she was the only one who had ever noticed him. She had followed him doggedly and persistently for three years, since she was ten and he was thirteen. Bryce never cared for her affection, never cared that she paid attention. Serrah infuriated him, reminded him of the sort of thing he was missing out on from everybody else. When she had asked him to dance, he had promised her he would if only she'd stay inside, quiet, freeing him up to seal all the exits. When he'd walked in, gun in hand, she'd rushed forward to greet him. It was by this act alone that she had been chosen as hostage.

Sobbing child in his arms, a smile of transcendental bliss on his face, Bryce was the center of everything. He gathered the villages on the dance floor, made them huddle close together. Several older children, bullies the lot, tied up the townsfolk and kept order for the mad teen, thinking the entire thing a giant prank and great fun; they didn't even know Bryce was using live ammo. As soon as the last of the villagers were tied, he scored his first kills of the night, dispatching the trio that had aided his plan.

One by one, one sobbing, begging, pleading soul after the other, Bryce executed the villagers. He killed the men first, then the older women. It was the looks in the eyes of living that fueled him, the mix of anger, fear, hatred. They were the look of eyes that would never forget him, would never see any face besides his own. Just an hour after the band had stopped playing, every single person in the hall, almost in the entire village, was dead. Only those that would return later to find the massacre survived, those and one other: Serrah, who had watched in helpless terror from her once-beloved's arms as her family and everybody she knew was killed infront of her.

Serrah Bryce left alive, setting her down in the middle of the carpet of bodies he'd made, on the bodies of her family. Her mind near-broken, she turned to look at him with eyes that burned and shone brighter than any of the others ever could have. They shone with anger, fear, hatred. They burned with fury and confusion. Most of all, a beam in each eye, they were lit by the agony of betrayal. They were eyes that would never, ever, ever stop seeing him.

Bryce left the town by boat that night, becoming a pirate and a fiend of reknown in local legend. He set out into the world with a single goal: to be a man with everybody's eyes upon him.

Personality: Bryce seems, on the outside, to be a decent, kind, and likable kid. Those unfamiliar with his deeds might think him a rather good person based on the way he normally acts. His behaviour is just that, though, an act. Bryce forever seeks attention, ultimate and unyielding, and will stop at nothing to get it. He tries at first to gain attention through wit and charm, and socially acceptable means. If he is ignored or spurned he begins to grow angry, though he usually only expresses this by becoming quiet and brooding. If he is completely ignored long enough, he will suddenly become giddy and act as if slightly intoxicated. At this stage he is his most dangerous, as he becomes very willing to begin committing atrocities to receive the attention he craves.

Ship: The Cosmos Vagrant
Ship Flag: A white skull with a red bullseye on it's forehead and the red silhouettes of a shotgun and a rifle crossed behind it.

Special Abilities
Inverted-Swords Gunplay - Bryce has developed a unique gunstyle that makes use of close, mid, and long-ranged techniques to make him a formidable enemy to melee and ranged foes alike.
Crazy Good Eyes - Bryce's eyes are very keen, giving him the ability to see small and/or distant objects in fine detail.
Crazy Good Mind - Bryce's reflexes are very sharp, allowing him to keep up with fast moving objects fairly well.
Crazy Cool Guy - Outwardly, Bryce is extremely likeable. People who spend much time in his presence tend to like, trust, and enjoy the company of the boy.

Learned Techniques
Cruelty: Inverse King of Swords - This technique uses Diem. Bryce fires off a pair scattershot rounds at close proximity, the shot (pellets) collide in mid air, scattering around the local area in a wild frenzy, ricocheting off of walls and the floor, causing vicious, painful, but shallow wounds to anyone caught inside the range. Careful practice allows him to avoid hitting himself with this, unless he moves while doing it. Short range.
Vengeance: Inverse Queen of Swords - This technique uses Carpe. By precision aiming and calculation, Bryce shoots to disable the use of an opponent's limb. Long range.
Impulse: Inverse Knight of Swords - Using one weapon in each hand, Bryce fires off a rapid volley of shots infront of himself, creating a dense storm of bullets that can hit many targets at medium range.
Impostor: Inverse Page of Swords - Long years of being ignored have taught Bryce the secrets of the art of subtle action. While firing either weapon with this technique, Bryce takes a second shot after the first that is very difficult to detect, the first shot being flashy and drawing more attention. Short to long range.
Doubt: Inverse Nine of Swords - The result of endless hours of practice, this technique lets Bryce reload one weapon with great speed while taking a shot with the other. Short to medium range.
Flight: Inverse Seven of Swords - Having spent several years on the run, Bryce can fire a shot over his shoulder or from his hip backwards while fleeing from a foe with decent accuracy. Short range.
Misfortune: Inverse Five of Swords - This technique allows Bryce to ricochet his rifle shots off of any solid surface, hitting foes who are hidden behind objects or are focused on dodging shots from his other weapon. Medium range.
Confusion: Inverse Three of Swords - A quickdraw technique, Bryce is capable of going from unarmed to having a weapon in hand and firing in a fraction of a second. This technique is useful for responding to attacks on short notice, as well as for catching enemies off guard. Short to long range.
Disaster: Inverse Ace of Swords - Born from his knowledge of long-distance trajectory and vectors, this technique allows Bryce to accurately fire on a foe from an extremely long distance with pinpoint accuracy. He must be perfectly stationary and focusing on nothing but hitting his target to use this technique. His intense, crazy will is manifested in his bullet, empowering the shot and allowing Bryce's victim to know who shot them once they're hit, no matter how far away he is or if he's hidden.
Full Force - Using his natural speed and enhanced reflexes, Bryce can move with blinding speed for short periods of time. Similar to Soru, but only usable in short bursts.

Weapons/Items - I know, need approval on these. On it!
Rifle "Carpe"
Shotgun "Diem"
Specialty Ammunition
- Incendiary
- Scattershot
- Hollowpoint
- Armor Piercing

Goals
To become a man that everybody in the world has their eyes on.

No, he's all one dude. He's just a poser, and does a good job of acting friendly and cool. He gets homicidal pretty quick once he's ignored, but he's well aware of what he's doing.

Not at all, good sir; think of him as a sort of sniper gymnast. Good eyes, good reflexes, but nothing near the realm of autododging.
