This is meant to be a helpful guideline to keep everything fair when engaging someone who has just as much to lose.  Remember you're character maybe the main character for your arcs, but that does not necessarily translate over when rping with other player characters.

1. Stay within the limits of your stats.  It's pretty self-explanatory, however some of the stats, especially those made by users such as devil fruit stats can have different interpretations of what their limits really are.  If there is a dispute about what a stat can do at a certain interval don't be afraid to ask the staff.  We're here to help.

2. No time travel.  We all make mistakes, and sometimes they have bad consequences.  We can correct our mistakes but only if they're noticed in time.  However if they're left unnoticed they cannot be fixed.  If you make a mistake in your post that becomes detrimental, you may fix it up until the opposing player posts.  Once the opposing player makes their post, you may not correct that post.  It would be akin to time travel and overall an unfair advantage that would lead to both parties editing their posts until the thread dies.

3. No godmodding/metagaming.  The stat system for the most part prevents this kind of behavior; however it does not banish it completely.  You may not auto- hit, dodge, block, etc.  Look to your stats when determining if you can dodge or block something.  If a player with a higher skill and perception than what your agility is, attacks you; chances are you're not going to be able to avoid the attack unscathed.  Understand that there are other factors that go into any given situation, things such as environment or seemingly random stats like tactical intelligence may go into the end result.  You are not your character, and thus your character would not have knowledge of other people's characters that you may possess.  If your character has never heard of your foe, they would have no idea whether or not that foe has a devil fruit even if you read it on their character sheet.

4. NPC tiers.  While npc's are fodder and can be auto-killed, there are still a few rules to go along with them.  First off, npc's can be given rights like regular player characters if the person controlling the thread so pleases.  That means no auto-kills.  Generally npc's that have the no auto-kill have higher stat totals and are a little more developed than the nameless cannon fodder.  All tittle holding, staff made npc's are to be treated like player characters.  This means conquers haki or abilities that work only on npc's will not work on npc's such as Admirals, just because they are technically npc's.

5. Explain your actions.  Try to be as detailed as possible in your post so the opponent knows exactly what is going on.  If someone asks you a question about your post, answer them the best as you can.  Realize that people cannot read your mind, and that their questions are not meant to be insults; even if you believe the answer is extremely obvious.  Creating a heated situation or adding more flame to the fire is never a good thing.

6. No arguing.  If you and your foe feel so strongly, that you need to argue; do it outside of the thread.  No one wants their thread filled with petty squabbling.  Involve a mod if it becomes too heated, no one wants someone rage quitting the site.  A tip to avoiding a fight altogether is simply plan out the fight with your foe before you put it on the forum.

7. Running a thread. The creator of the thread is in control of the thread, so make sure you know who you're rping with.  Captains of crew have some control in a thread even if they didn't make it.  Mostly this pertains to the cut of beli that their crews get at the end of the thread; however they also act as intermediates for their crew with the thread creator.  Note that marines get a set cut of beli per thread (Explained in the salary guide) which cannot be dictated by any marine characters with a higher rank.  As part of this rule, thread creators are the ones responsible for post order and choosing to skip posters.  After 24 hours, anyone can skip a poster whose turn has come up, but has yet to post.   Creators, please be reasonable and only skip after a 24 hour or more delay.  However if the poster is late or unable to post often, creators can choose to place the late posters turn aside and continue the posting order without that person(s).
