Jess has short, black hair in 2 tiny ponytails lying over her shoulders. There's a big, red bow in her hair, at the back of her head. She also has a red hairband. She has blue eyes. Jess wears a black and red striped, off-shoulder shirt with long sleeves, and short, black pants. She wears one red glove, and one black glove. She wears knee high black socks, and white, fluffy shoes.
History: Jess was born on a small island in South blue. Her mother died giving birth to her, leaving her father to raise her. He was an inventor, so he didn’t always have time for her. He would dump her with friends, while he would invent new things. Jess was a curious child, always asking about her father. She missed him, wanted to spend time with him, but he was always busy. When Jess turned 6, she became interested in what her father was doing. He started involving her in his work, even letting her help. At first Jess only wanted to help to spend time with her father, but over time she started to enjoy it.
When Jess turned 9, her father allowed her to make something on her own. She managed to make a gun able to fire waterbullets. When she saw how proud her father was, she swore she would keep inventing for as long as she could. Anything to please her father. He started teaching her how to fight then. He taught Jess how to handle a blade, and how to shoot a gun. That’s when he became ill. He had a tumor in his brain, and there was no doctor on the island skilled enough to heal him. He died soon after they found out, making Jess an orphan at the age of 11. Jess was consumed by grief, and destroyed all inventions she and her father ever made. Not wanting to remain in a place where she would be constantly reminded of her father, she packed her things and left. She stopped at the first island she saw, and started living there.
Jess quickly became known on the island as a freak. It was normal to hear explosions coming from her house, where she kept inventing. The village thought it weird, that a girl would be interested in that sort of thing. They left her alone, and Jess was glad. She was afraid they would try to interfere in her life if they got involved. She kept inventing, and practising with fighting.
When Jess was 14, pirates came to the island. They were kind, and told Jess about a world outside of South blue. They told her about the other seas, about the pirate revolution, about people going out there to accomplish their dreams. Impossible dreams like becoming the Pirate King, becoming the best cook in the world, things like that. That’s when Jess decided she would make her dream come true. She was going to become the world’s greatest inventor. She was going to make her father proud. She left the island shortly after the pirates left.
Personality: Jess is a kind, young girl with a heart of gold. She will do anything to keep others happy, even sacrificing her own happiness. She is desperate for approval, especially from her father, even though he is dead. She strongly believes he is watching her from the sky. She is really insecure about herself, which is why she seeks approval from everyone. Because she is still young and has been alone for years, she needs some guidance from an older person. Someone like a father figure. Jess is mature for her age. She is still a child, but she thinks like an older person.
