PostSubject: Iris Segal   Iris Segal Icon_minitimeThu Mar 08, 2012 1:44 pm

Name: Iris Segal

Age: 25

Bounty: none

Species: Human

Occupation: informant, if anything

Allegiance: Navy/Marine (commander), world government

Home Village/Ocean: South Blue

Appearance:
Iris is, there is no other word for it, stunning, and she knows it perfectly well. She's worked hard for it. She doesn't need to show a lot of her tanned skin to be attractive, she shows enough in the right places. A bit of cleavage here, a bit of leg there, and she reaches her goals. Nature has blessed her with a figure to die for, quite literally sometimes, and a face to match. Her long legs and wide hips go over into a thin waist and an admirable bust. And damn, does she know how to use those advantages and stay classy at the same time. The way she moves alone can make men kneel before her. Swaying hips, a mysterious smile from red lips, dark green bedroom eyes that seem to pull you in, an effect strenghtened by the dark make up she often applies around them, she is a mans dream come true at first sight, but may actually well be a nightmare. Because as soon as you can see the ice in those eyes make room for fire, boy, if you're not about to sleep with her, then you'd better run. Second thoughts: Even if you're going to sleep with her, think it through again: Do you really want to do this? It could be dangerous...
Nothing made Iris quite as happy as the knowledge that she could wear private clothes instead of a uniform. Not that the uniform didn't look good on her, but she knows much easier ways to reach her goals. One of them is cleavage. No matter what she wears, cleavage is a must. Her favourite outfit is a corset, dark and tight, combined with a long skirt with a slit on the side, so she can show her legs in the most casual way possible. High heels are always to be worn, even in battle. She's quite a good fighter, and high heels don't slow her down one bit. Around her slender neck, she often wears a scarf, sometimes cloth, sometimes fur, always fitting her outfit. Since she is from south blue, she gets cold easily, and when she really does, then she won't let that ruin her outfit, no. She turned the ugly marine coat down for a much classier alternative: the furcoat. A dark coat with fur linings, expensive and high class. To that whole outfit, jewelry may or may not be applied, though she often goes for earrings and necklaces, sometimes bracelets. She doesn't need it though. On her right hand, she wears a black leather glove. It is her one big shame, the flaw in her beauty that she is, indeed, missing that hand. Of course, it got replaced. But she feels it flaws her, and tries to hide it this way.
Her dark violet hair falls down to the middle of her back in waves, though she always makes sure a bit of it also falls into her face, obscuring her left eye. In fighting situations, she ties it back, beauty will have to be sacrificed to practicality, no matter how much it hurts her. The rest of her outfit stays the way it is though.

History:
There are many small islands in south Blue. It's a place known for its mercenaries and weapons, it's good weather and beautiful women. At least the place Iris comes from is. A small island close to the border, where everyone who actually wanted to move to South Blue ended up. A clash of cultures, so colourful it ended up being great.
Iris grew up in a world of wine, women and song, of dance and loud music, voodoo and street gangs, a dangerous but absolutely dazzling place, where the strong and ruthless lived to see another day. She learned how to use her advantages early. Men were drawn in by her eyes, her curves, and she strenghtened that effect by doing just the right things at the right time. When things got too hot to handle, which they usually did, she used sickles or just her own physical strenght to get away. She learned to be ruthless, beautiful, and strong.
Her mother was a voodoo priestess, and at the beginning, Iris looked like she'd turn out just that as well. She was the perfect enchantress: Beautiful, power hungry, ruthless, clever. How many of those things came naturally and how many her mother had taught her, one might discuss about, but the answer stays obscure, as Iris isn't exactly chatty about such details. Fact is: she was a ready student. At age sixteen, she was notorious around town. And she loved that life, she really did. Had a new man every week at that time, but she wasn't a whore. She only picked out the top percent.
Maybe she would've spent the rest of her life there, become a voodoo priestess like her mother and would have continued playing with peoples hearts and money. But despite her life being great, there was something else that called her away. In this lawless zone, there was no real power to be earned. Though she could have lived with spending her life in a not as important position, after all, this hellhole full of sinners was just her kind of surrounding, she couldn't see herself with less than a classy, wild life lead in absolute decadence with her own little harem to pick from, a big house to live in and a lot of time on her hands to do whatever she wanted to, to whoever she wanted to, at any time. A torture chamber would be nice, as well...
So she set out into the world, in search of a career that would give her a taste of those things. And that's when, for the first time in her life, she met real pirates. To tell the truth, she wasn't impressed. Surre, they were scumbags. But where she came from, this wasn't anything unusual. It went down quietly. She kept her distance, they tried to hit her on, she killed one of them, the rest scurried away, the end. It didn't exactly have a big impact on her.
It was barely four weeks after she left the island that she found what she was looking for. The job was given to her right away, of course, seeing as she had jsut the right... arguments to make it count.
So, she started working for the world government.
Her job was that of a messenger, seeing as people tended to agree to her real quick after they actually saw her. She worked in that job for two years, and would have done it for a longer time, but something... came in the way. Normally, pirates didn't really attack government ship, the small fry on South Blue wouldn't dare harm a messenger of the government, but these men had been on the Grand Line for a bit too long. They were hungry and desperate, but that didn't excuse anything in Iris' eyes.
When they attacked, everyone fought. And so did she. But with her experience at that time? No chance. She thought it was over, her whole crew dead, and the pirates not up for taking prisoners, not even her. But it looked like the captain had a particularily sadistic streak in his nature. He saw her beauty, her flawlessness, and decided to, after absolutely taking advantage of the fact that she was unable to fight back, put a little flaw on her. Now normal people, they would have gone for her face, right? But the captain thought differently. He wanted only one cut, one flaw, and when he looked at Iris, he saw not only beauty, but strenght as well. So instead of giving her a scar on her face, he decided to take both those thing from her and cut off her hand.
After that, the pirates left her for dead on a ship full of corpses. She was bleeding, hurting, exhausted and inside her, something began to grow. Hate. She swore, on that day, to eradicate the scum who did this to her. Not only the one crew, no. All of them. Weren't they all the same, after all?
Iris would have died back then, if not for the thought of revenge keeping her alive, making her steer the ship. It was pure luck that she found an island with government friendly people who took care of her wounds and got her on a ship that took her back to an outpost of the government.
She handed in her report like a professional, was asked a few questions, and then let go. Her superiors were impressed by her surviving that massacre and the time that followed it, and they decided it would be a shame to waste her talents as a messenger. They offered her a post in the military compartment of the world government, and she, in hopes of becoming stronger and one day able to take her revenge, accepted.
She spend a total of one year with the military compartment, learning how to fight like a professional and, more importantly, even a bit of Rokushiki. Okay, so she had been going for that ever since she joined. Rokushiki, the strongest techniques of the government, in her hands? She couldn't turn something that jumped her so obviously down. And after some smaller talks, she gained permission to be trained in a few of those techniques. During that time, she also got a very special present from one of her admirers in high positions. It was a dog, a cute little puppy dog.... Well, as cute as irish wolfhounds get. It had been in an experiment involving that IQ thing she had heard about, and had been about to be killed off as he was considered a failure, but her superior just didn't have the heart, and offered it to her instead. He thought she'd surely like a little puppy. She liked it because it was a weapon, but it was the first time anyone had even cared about it, and so, it grew loyal to her in no time.
But after that year, she was twenty three at that time, she found herself wondering what she was doing this for. She had reached everything she wanted here, well, except the few remaining rokushiki techniques, but that was fine with her.
A week after her twenty third birthday, she requested being moved to the post of a marine officer. Her request was granted, but she was only made a lieutenant, and even that was hard, considering that the world government only had that much power over the marine.
Iris didn't mind that much. She grew to quite like the job. She got to hunt pirates, there were a lot of men around to admire her (she had started to actually not like it after the incident with the pirate ship, but was glad to use it to get what she watned), and the payment wasn't as shabby as she had imagined. Her post.... well, she started working on that directly after her arrival.
A work and intrigue filled two years later, she was made a commander. She liked this post. It was high enough to hold some authority, but low enough to give the important men the feeling that they were still standing above her. Men liked that, she had learned. A certain sense of power.... But what did she care about their disillusions of power? She had quite some contacts already, and gains more every day. She has all the rumors, all the news before everyone else gets them, could get a small bonus any time, and all this while killing pirates? She loves her job.

Personality:
Iris is cursed by the wife of every man who has ever laid eyes on her. They say she tempers with dark magic to turn their husbands heads and burns herself into their memory until there is nothing left of them but their obsession with her. That's not true. She doesn't need black magic to do that. She's found other ways. And really, she long stopped caring about what others think of her.
She is far from a slut, that is for sure. Not even said wifes can say that about her. And is it really that despicable to be ambitious? Some would go so far as to say power hungry. Bad people dare say Iris wants to gain control of the marine, nay, the whole world government! Wrong again. Well, at least half wrong. She does like power... She loves power. But she doesn't need status to get it, and she doesn't care about ruling the world. Sounds like stress. And stress causes wrinkles and bad skin. Now who would want that? No, she's content with, say, a little influence. Getting to pull a few strings, in the right positions. And god knows, she has the power to achieve that. No man has ever been able to resist her charms. But in the end, no matter how much she uses them, she really, really despises men. And she doesn't whore herself out. Her charm is that, no matter how much she shows her body, her curves, there is always a certain understanding that, were you to ask, she wouldn't let you have it. That is what drives men insane. The knowledge that there is a godess amongst them, but she wouldn't let anyone get close. She's flirty, but cold. Provocative, but she doesn't keep the promises her body, her way of dressing, moving, talking make. She only picks the top percent of men, and only for one night, if anything.
Her self esteem is high, she's a proud woman in her own way, though her form of pride seems to involve using her body to get somewhere in life. It's a fact that showing feelings, true feelings makes you vulnerable. And people like her, people who chose to be like her, live for power must not be vulnerable. She has tried to kill her feelings off, she has. Still, they are alive. Behind that icy shell, there's a heart and it's still pumping. And filled with fire. She has a bad temper. The worst temper. Provocate her long enough, and it'll show. She's not harmless, her playing hard to get isn't just an act. It's the truth. She is a violent person. A very violent and very ruthless person.
