PostSubject: Brandon Gaudet   Brandon Gaudet Icon_minitimeMon Jan 16, 2012 4:38 pm

Name: Brandon Gaudet

Age: 18

Bounty: 0

Species: Human

Occupation: Navigator

Allegiance: No one

Home Village/Ocean: Grand Line

Appearance: Brandon is six feet and two inches in height. He is thin, almost ridiculously so, but has a layer of powerful, and unusually unnoticeable, muscle lying just beneath his skin. This odd body structure has tends to have different affects on people since he's so tall, but doesn't look very tough. Brandon also has jet black hair that falls around his face and he has amber eyes. On his right cheek is a tattoo that looks like this: GS-03.

Brandon's clothing is a little bit strange. He usually wears a yellow shirt that has long and wide sleeves. These sleeves cover everything from the base of his palms backwards. He also wears black jeans. Around his neck he wears what looks like a metal dog collar. At his waist he wears a belt on which he carries the sheaths for his swords. The sheaths sit on opposite sides. He has a pair of sandals that he can easily slip on or off. Lastly he carries the metal pole of his weapon across his back.

History: Brandon's past is just as shrouded to him as it is to anyone else. His earliest memories are of when he was five, but even those are faint due to him being so young.

At five, Brandon was being towed around by a man he does not remember the name of. This man would take him to a new city, spend a few weeks there, and then move on. Together Brandon and this man traversed parts of the Grand Line and each of the Blues. All that Brandon does know about the man he was with was that this guy had enough money for the two of them to survive on comfortably, and that this man was frequently absent. These absences could be as little as an hour or two, but sometimes they would last the entire two or three weeks Brandon was on whatever island his guardian had decided to take him to.

Two years passed and finally the man vanished permanently. Brandon waited for almost a month before his food began to run out. Finally, he was forced to leave his home and take to the streets to search for food. All the while, he kept an eye open for the man who had taken care of him. However, he would never see him again.

Brandon's time on the streets was spent in almost constant danger. It all started when he was dragged into a fight.

Brandon had just been walking by when he saw the fight. He did not want to join in, but there were these two little kids who were being overwhelmed by some children who were in their early teens. Brandon couldn't just walk away, so he dove in and attacked the older children. He defeated them with almost ease. This was the battle that taught him about his enhanced strength.

The two kids Brandon had saved took him to an old, run down shack. There he met a small group of the town's orphans. The town's orphanage had been neglected and there was not nearly enough funds to take care of every orphan in the town. So they had banded together to form a little gang that worked, begged, and stole to eat. There was a second group of orphans, one that was much larger and had older members. This was the group that had attacked the two children Brandon rescued.

The smaller group of orphans asked Brandon to stay with them. With his strength on their side, they hoped that they would be able to defend themselves against their rivals. Brandon agreed to stay and the lines were quickly drawn. The larger group wanted revenge for their beaten allies. They wanted Brandon delivered to them. After some debating Brandon agreed to go and told his newfound friends to wait for him. He went and he fought.

The next day Brandon returned to his new home. He was covered in wounds, but had been successful.

Brandon remained with this gang of orphans for several years. They grew in number, strength, and age. Eventually they were a threat not only to other child gangs, but adults as well. Brandon became their champion, but he refused to be their leader even though they petitioned him several times. Brandon had never desired authority. He had always just followed others with their choices.

When he turned ten, Brandon found a new love. He discovered book. It was more of an accident than anything else that he found out that he liked these. He had wandered into a library for the first time in his life and he was hoping to find something to steal for his family. Instead of food or clothes, however, he found more books than he had ever seen. He had learned to read a while back, but he had never had much to read other than a few manuals that came with the junk he had stolen. This first visit to a library opened Brandon's eyes to the many things he could learn and after that, he returned to the library many times. It was there that he learned basic medicine, a little bit of cooking, some self-defense, and most importantly, how to navigate. Brandon soaked up the information on navigation as if he had been made for it.

Even more years passed and Brandon matured into a young man. His gang was slowly but surely driving out the other gangs and taking over the city. On one of their final missions, after the battle had ended, Brandon had observed his allies beating a few of the enemy to death. He didn't even have to think about it, he dove in the way and knocked out his friends. The rest of his gang turned on him and their leader demanded that he must personally kill the rest of the enemy as penalty for his actions. Brandon refused and easily overcame his one time allies. Afterwards, knowing that he was no longer safe there, he left the island in the best ship that their gang owned.

Brandon made his way across the oceans, searching for some other purpose in his life. He had never really been so free before and he had no clue what he could do with himself.

During his travels, Brandon ended up on a Fall Island. There he was forced to hide in the sewers because of a storm. Down in the sewers he met an odd creature. It was a snake that could turn into metal pole. Brandon befriended the creature and took it with him. This creature became his friend and his weapon. It helped increase his fighting ability by non-verbally teaching him how to use it in battle.

Personality: Brandon is normally a quiet person. This does not mean he acts emotionless, though. He just listens better than he talks. And once he gets to know a person, he can talk their ear off if he has something he really wants to say to them. Even after he gets to know them, however, he is still very reclusive and will often disappear with a book or a sheet of paper for a few hours. Sometimes he'll even just vanish and wander around somewhere for no apparent reason. When talking to others, Brandon is usually calm, but throws in the odd joke. He's not particularly excitable, but will still get hyped up on occasion.

Ship: Lightning Hound: This is a long, thin, and sleek vessel. It carries no cannons. Its main deck is mostly barren aside from the mast. At the back of the main deck is a small hold with a curtain hung over its door-less entrance. This is the sleeping area as evidenced by the hammock hung within. Below the main deck is a crawlspace that acts as a secondary hold.

The Lightning Hound's size and shape make it perfect for speed. This vessel slices through water with such ease that the hardest part of its movement to control is trying to get it to slow down.

Flag: A skull with a double-bladed scythe head pointing out one side and a snake head on the other.

Devil Fruit: N/A
Type: N/A
Effect: N/A

Special Abilities:

Enhanced Power: Brandon was a test subject in a lab that used him to further the perfection of a formula that gives a person great strength without needing to train for it. The formula was not completed when it was injected into Brandon and it did give him strength, but he was boosted by a much smaller amount than was intended. This is why, despite his weak appearance, he is actually very strong.

Strength: Brandon is very powerful strength-wise. He doesn't have epic level strength, but he is still above the average and can compete with most OCs that aren't super-powered in some way. (Examples of super-powered individuals: Cyborgs with mechanical muscles, Iken, Namor, etc.)

Agility: Brandon is a very agile individual. He is quick on his feet and can easily jump heights of fifteen feet from a standing position.

Fighting Skills: Brandon's style of fighting is very unusual and difficult to perform well, but he is extremely proficient with the wielding of his double-bladed scythe.

Learned Techniques:

1: Floating Swallow: Brandon steps to the side of his opponent's attack and then he spins past his opponent, slashing at them with his weapon.

2: Panther Leap: Brandon jumps through the air, moving silently, and he drops down behind an opponent and slashes at them.

3: Stag Rush: Brandon dashes forward at a speed that makes him almost impossible to see and he slashes with his weapon.

4: Mantis Trap: Brandon slams his swords into an object, like a wall, and crosses them over an enemy's weapon. Then he swings his metal pole at his opponent's head.

5: Whale Song: Brandon brings his double-blade scythe down and strikes the ground or a wall with great force. This sends a shockwave of force through the ground or wall and cuts clear through it. In the case of a wall, the building the wall is supporting may collapse if Brandon wants to knock it down. He has become skilled enough with this technique to drop a building or tree in the direction he wants it to go. He will not be using this technique excessively since it requires so much power and can put a lot of people's lives in danger.

6: Wild Beast Rage: Brandon springs forward and unleashes a combo of his best strikes, aiming for vitals while trying to block any counterattacks.

Weapons/Items:

Cielo

Goals: Find some purpose for living on the seas.

Seems like a pretty strong character, but I trust you'll keep him in line.
