-Appearance information-
Physical appearance:

Body: Halmsmarr has a somewhat stocky build, having a fair bit of mass despite his height of only 174 cm. He is muscular from years of work on the farm, and he has the reddened complexion of someone whose skin was light originally but was baked into its current color from endless hours of toiling under the sun. He is in excellent shape.

Face: Halmsmarr's face is that of a man much older than he is. His chin is of a fairly angular, defined shape, and his forehead seems to be wrinkled most of the time. His eyes are normal sized with a light blue color, and they are just a slight more pointed at the edges than most. His nose is, once again, a triangular shape, though the edges are well rounded, and the nose is of normal size. His mouth is mostly hidden by his moustache, but his lips are slightly cracked.

Hair: Despite his youth, Halmsmarr has already managed to grow a reddish brown, bushy handlebar moustache. His hair is similarly bushy and reddish brown, with a shape obscured by the amount and messiness of the hair. On the back, it extends to below his neck in batches of curly hair in all directions. This hair also covers his ears but has been carefully swept off his face and the hair extends only the the sides and back, never to the front.

Non visual information: Halmsmarr's voice is well suited for righteous outrage, firm but gentle speeches, and yelling at punks to get off his lawn (even though he doesn't have one). Halmsmarr's voice and style of speech indicate someone far older than he is, with its hearty, lively and rough tone that would remind most people of vikings. All in all, his voice gives the air of a very down-to-earth and simple man who does not need much to be happy.

Extra features: N/A

Clothing: Halmsmarr can usually found in the basic marine uniform, purposefully made wide and large to properly fit someone of his girth. It is a short-sleeved white shirt, emblazoned with the marine logo, coupled with the standard issue marine cap and dark blue trousers.

On his time off, he wears a red and black plaid, long sleewed wool shirt, made to be fairly thin so as to to breathe well and accommodate him properly even in hotter weather. He typically eschews the marine cap on his leisure time, and dons dark brown wool pants of similar thickness to accompany.

In formal occasions, he wears a traditional black suit, complete with black pants, a white undershirt and a tie, all made out of fine wool. The garment is of very fine quality and built to last, and and does not show its age, but it is not the best fitting for Halmsmarr, since it has been passed down from family.

He wears black shoes with each outfit.

-Personality information-

Personality Overview: Halmsmarr is a simple man, espousing hard work and obedience, though he is capable of the occasional flash of brilliance. He is well and truly a man of the countryside, and his attitudes reflect this. As far as he figures, his missions as a marine are just his job, and he ought to do that job to the best of his ability, preferring to leave the more minute moral implications for someone else to deal with. He is still known to be reasonable, and he will not kill civilians or sacrifice innocents just to do his job. In his mind, there is always a better way.

Halmsmarr is a charismatic leader to his men, which is perhaps his greatest virtue as a marine . When he tells someone to do something, they have a tendency to obey. This combined with his tendency to just take the orders of his superiors at face value and carry them out make him a very dependable and effective marine.

Halmsmarr holds a view that the pirates are the root of most evil, though he does not hold to this very strongly. He also believes that most people can be good, if they're just willing to work to improve themselves. In this way he is an optimist about people. However, he also believes that most people aren't inclined to change themselves, which makes the whole thing kind of pointless.

Likes, Dislikes, Hopes and Fears: Halmsmarr wishes to serve people like the ones he left back at home. Ultimately he wants to make the world a safer place to live in. He feels for the common folk, and fears for the future of the common man, though he leaves clearer judgement calls to his superiors.

He is a simple man with simple vices, limited to getting drunk every once in a while. He dislikes overly complicated philosophy, and harbors a special hate for pointless destruction, such as what almost befell his hometown. In general, he dislikes pirates.

-History information-**
Halmsmarr was the son of a farmer, born to a son and daughter of two separate farmers, who were in turn also born to farmers. He had one big sister, two years older than him, and his future seemed rather obvious. Everyone else in the island was a farmer, so he was also going to be a farmer. Everyone was going to be a farmer.

Formal education was largely seen as meaningless, and no-one really bothered imparting book knowledge to kids. If everyone was going to work on a farm anyway, why bother teaching people anything else? Mostly, people learned how to keep a prosperous farm going, and how to develop a drinking habit. Halmsmarr was really no exception, He learned into drinking at the young age of fifteen years old, and has been keeping up a steady alcohol intake ever since.

Despite this, he was always a dutiful child, carrying out his parents' wishes and generally not causing trouble, being about as useful as his father on the field. He was an obedient, good son, and it showed in his interactions. Unlike other children in his community, he wouldn't play pranks or disobey his parents, which earned him a bit of a reputation as an odd sort of child. He never really let what others thought of him bother him, and life went on.

That is, it would have if one fine a group of pirates wouldn't have decided to land on the agricultural island for... loot? They didn't have much to take but their lives, and the marines set out to do battle against the pirates. However, they were not the only ones. The farmers also mobilized, joining the fray with axes, pitchforks and whatever free firearms could be spared. Halmsmarr, who was 19 at the time had also joined the battle, and for some reason took it upon himself to try and utilize some actual strategy among the angry mob of farmers, who went with it simply because he seemed like he knew what he was doing.

This had more effect than he thought. One of the commanding marine officers sought him out to suggest that he enlist in the marines, and while he hadn't thought of it before, he found it a good idea indeed. While his parents were not too happy with him leaving home and the farm, they still understood the importance of the marines' work, and gave their blessings to his enlisting. He promptly did so, and was shipped off to boot camp in a larger marine base.

His career as a marine officially began there. He went through boot camp with flying colors, and was next stationed on a patrol vessel which prowled a rather large area in order to locate the most common routes the pirates took. Naturally, this led to repeated combat, which Halmsmarr still had no problem with despite his fairly peaceful nature. As pirates, they invited a rather violent arrest. Halmsmarr has consistently been rather competent, but has yet to gain a promotion. He figures patience will do the trick.
