Name: Nemo Nihil

Age: 30

Bounty: 10,000,000

Species: Human

Occupation: treasure hunter

Allegiance: Pirate, himself

Home Village/Ocean: East Blue

Appearance: Nemo Nihil stands at the height of five feet eleven inches. He weighs 165 pounds. He has charcoal black hair, and muddy brown eyes. All of these traits are astonishingly average. That's the simplest thing to say about Nemo's appearance.

His hair is kept short and combed. His face is clean-shaven and his teeth are sparkling white. His jawline is resemblant of a v that rounds at the point. He has a small vertical scar coming from the left side of his lower lip. His lips are chapped, and he has a streak of grey hair on the left side of his head, just above his ear. His ears are average and so is his nose. His feet are large (a twelve and a half in american sizes) and his hands are preportionately large. His posture is well; he does not slouch.

He dresses in a typical business suit. He has a white button-up polo and a black jacket. Of course, he wears his tie, mascot, and black suit pants to go with it. He has two white work gloves, and his business shoes (spring and heel). On his hip is Jack, in the scabbard. Sometimes he brandishs a top hat.

History: Nemo was an executive at a trading coalition. His life was incredibly fortunate; he had money, he had rank, and he was in line for a promotion. Nemo didn't have any enemies and had paid off a crew of pirates to disrupt his competitor's trade. He donated money to charity to save face, and gave ten percent of the trade coalitions gross to the World Government.

Nemo had a rude awakening one day, as he laid on the bed in his house. The wood ceiling had a thick collection of cobwebs in the northwest corner, but he didn't care. A rat scampered across his floor and he didn't do a thing. There were a trail of ants collecting around and carrying away his breakfast. It didn't take long for him to realize the housekeeper had quit; the signs were all over the house and he hadn't seen them for weeks. Nemo saw it as a sign, or metaphor. His life was pointless; just like hiring a housekeeper when he didn't notice the difference between there work and a dirt-filled house. He sold all his belongings; they had no point to him. His gathered wealth was donated to the homeless, an act that many thought was foolishly generous. All he had was a suit and a desire to find what the greater calling for life was.

Nemo's first thought was to visit a large city on a different island. Some place with people who were suffering yet lived happily. Before he could travel, he needed a boat. That was simple enough; he begged for enough money to ride an escort ship. He learned something of the world on the month-long cruise; he experienced the distortion sea-sickness, the nervousness of stir-craze, the tranquility of the ocean, the danger of a storm, and most importantly the ruthlessness of pirates. Never once in his dealings with the criminal lot had he been on the wrong side of the cutlass, so to speak. The voyage was a different story. They kidnapped the crew with intent of slave trading and commandeered the vessel. The people needed a hero and Nemo Nihil needed to live on. The captain had a blade on his hip, a rather gaudy one with a titanium blade. Nemo saw the blade as a chance to fight off the pirates, but there was no window of opportunity. Conveniently enough, the captain was bedridden with the flu. Nemo said he was a doctor and could cure the Pirate Captain and was allowed to examine his unconscious body. The gaudy cutlass was on the Captain's desk and Nemo lunged for it. A pirate brandished his pistol but Nemo struck the villain in the throat before he could pull the trigger.

After a series of events involving the clever defeat of the pirate crew and the hailing for a navy vessel, the original journey continued. He arrived at Loguetown without a penny to his name and a sword on his hip. He struggled with poverty and the failure to find a higher calling; this culminated in drinking. He begged for coin in the day, drank in the night, and slept in an alleyway. His personality faded into a broken, angry, shell of what used to be a charming man. He was a regular at the pub and was hated by a majority of the town. However, the working citizens still pitied him and gave him small donations. After a few months of drinking, he realized what had happened to his life. He tried desperately to quit drinking and to move onto his mission. He visited the pub once more, to say goodbye to the barkeep. He didn't have any money for alcohol as he spent it on cleaning his suit; he realized if he arrived at the location with any money he might just spend it.

The barkeep gave him a stale response, not of hatred but of confusion. Nemo left in a hurry, he had made many enemies and was in the darkest spot of his life. Nothing was that simple though, he couldn't just walk out of the door. A barfight broke out, and he slipped away, but not before a glass mug was thrown at his right arm. Glass fragments embedded into his arm and he fled from the city. After reaching the countryside he took off his tie and used it as a tournequette. His consciousness was weak and he was hungry. His mind and flesh shut down in the middle of a brick road. He was found by an elderly farmer.

Nemo had offered the man the great reward he could, and the farmer made a different request. Nemo was asked to help harvest the crops and prepare the wagon for a trip to the market. Nemo owed the man his life, or at least a favor. For the next few months he did household chores and the farmer's job for him; this went on until the day all of the farmer's crops were harvested. The trek to town would be a long one: through bandit country, the mountains, and finally a swamp land. Nemo gave the farmer one last favor; escort through bandit country.

Bandit country was a settlement of raiders. They had established the perimeter of their territory as the valley inbetween the Wasteland Range (a range of mountains on the east side of the island where there was no major cities) and the Baseline Range (A mountain range called that because the society starts to dwindle at that point). The criminal hive was famous for crippling the economy on the Island's east side. Before the Marines could stage an all out attack, they retreated to the valley. When the farmer and his escort arrived asking for peaceful travel through the Bandit Country they were not met with a warm reception.

Fortunately, the mass of bandits had mobilized, leaving a small party to defend their camps. This defense force grabbed their weaponry and rushed to hold up the farmer's wagon. The farmer stepped out of the wagon and surrendered, but Nemo was prepared for a vicious battle. He brandished the blade that lay upon his hip and slashed at the first bandit. The first bandit dodged, but was surprised by a second slash, this one to the stomach. Now, there were only six bandits left alive. Two others ran at him, the first with a spear and the second with a truncheon. The first stabbed him but Nemo sidestepped to the left and stabbed the spearman through the stomach. The club-wielder struck him in the back of his right leg; Nemo collapsed onto his left knee but slashed off the attacker's right arm in response. Three attackers were defeated and four remained.

The bandits had a change in strategy. They circled him as if they were sharks: one of them had a handaxe, one of them brandished a large knife, a third bandit equipped himself with a katana, and the last had a flintlock rifle. They prepared to attack, one at a time. The rifleman stopped moving to aim, and Nemo rushed to him. Nemo struck the rifle, moving the barrel sideways. As the gun fired the second bandit moved in, and in the process was shot. The rifleman shoved Nemo back and fled to the sidelines. The axeman spun in with a powerful chop at the unbalenced Nemo. Nemo Nihil jolted to his feet and shoved the axeman to the ground and stomped his throat. The rifleman reloaded his rifle as a more professional battle started.

Personality: Nemo Nihil doesn't like much. Nemo Nihil doesn't hate much. It would be safe to say most everything is just there to Nemo. He doesn't desire money and he doesn't desire fame. He breaks the law when neccessary, but has a natural disposition to follow it. There are few things that make him violent, the simplest one being attacking his physical body. a secondary attempt to anger him would be to hault his venture unneccessarily. The only thing Nemo Nihil is deeply attached to is completing his current venture, whatever it may be. Nemo is willing to trust others, however he is not gullible and is naturally suspicious of anyone.
