Home Village/Ocean: A small, manmade island that once floated on the south blue called Naubough.

Appearance: Devin is just under average height and on the thinner side with a toned but slender build to him. His skin seems as though it was quite pale at one point but has since taken in a healthy color from the sun. His hair is a thick, wavy consistency worn down and un-styled (perhaps even uncombed) parted over his eyes with a stand falling between them over the bridge of his nose and down framing his cheekbones in the front, to his jaw over the ears and to the nape of his neck in the back with a short tied back section in the back all of which is dirty blond bleached a bit by the sun. His eyes are squared and a bit wider with a calming blue color to them, his facial features are an even balance between angular and smooth giving him a simple but attractive look and he has a bridge of freckles between his cheekbones across his nose.

Devin wears a very dark green vest with a bit of a collar and three round golden buttons over a light tan long-sleeved shirt with a thicker fabric which falls over his black leather belt down to his thighs from under the vest. His pants are blue and baggy with a thick fabric and his shoes are simple black shoes with metal heels, soles and toes. He keeps himself presentable and clean if not neat and has a very relaxed feel about him.

History: At some point, fed up with the politics and crime of the mainland and larger islands a few fishermen built a ship large enough to be called an island and sailed the open seas as its own nation calling it Naubough on the soul blue. At first the island was a great success free of piracy and the meddlesome world government but in time internal struggles began to surface, as Naubough was cut off from the rest of the world there was no real trade and the need for outside goods soon became apparent, this led to an organization of smugglers who traded with pirates despite the ruling bodies laws and judgment. Eventually the pirates came to the realization that plundering Naubough would be more profitable than trading with its people and war broke out ultimately resulting in the demise and collapse of the island. It was on this island that Devin was born.

Devin began life with some relative privilege born in to the ruling family on Naubough with a couple of older siblings and found his early life easy but closely regulated. Devin’s father was an unmovable man with strict ideals who gave him a friendly but somewhat constrictive upbringing and extensive education, as a child Devin spent a lot of time indoors on his own reading or drawing as he didn’t seem to have that many friends but lived happily until the war broke out.

Among the many things that were prohibited on Naubough devil fruits were the most valuable and it was during a battle over a cargo of just those fruits that the coupe took place. Pirates laid waste to the manor in which they ruling family lived and in all the chaos the family was separated. Devin ended up being taken to where the cargo of devil fruits were as the navy arrived. Unwilling to accept the royal family nor the civilians as hostages (as they were not allied with any government) the marines began to bombard Naubough, pirates, smugglers, fishermen, women and children alike with artillery to quash the pirate activity.

Shocked and distraught at the Marine’s actions Devin’s captors resolved to flee but were unwilling to leave the cargo and in their hurried efforts to load the devil fruits did not see a young Devin (whom they had forgotten all about) hiding amongst them as the pirates made there escape.

Days passed, knowing that the pirates would kill him if they discovered him Devin searched the cargo for a devil fruit that might have helped him, fortunately a copy of a reliable devil fruit catalogue was handy and Devin was able to make an informed choice, he wanted a fruit that would protect him from the guns and swords of the pirates and the cannons and shackles of the navy alike while giving him a power he could use in his life if he was giving up his ability to swim. Eventually he decided upon the Tetsu Tetsu no mi and ate it finding that like all devil fruits it tasted terrible. He spent another week testing his new power before planning his escape.

Deciding that waiting for the pirates to make landfall was to risky Devin stole supplies of food, water and even a map form the pirates over a period of days and one night, emboldened by the power he had gained took a few extra devil fruits with him on a stolen row boat and at the age of seven went to sea. This proved to be a poor choice on his part as he was met with storms and drifted aimlessly for many days until another ship, a merchant vessel emerged. Amazed to find the boy still alive they pulled him aboard and Devin, always polite and honorable gave them a devil fruit for passage to land.

When landfall came Devin sold the other devil fruits at an auction for enough money to support himself for a while and began to search for a new place to live before finally arriving at a warm jungle near the shores of the east blue, this place was a simple village of almost uncivilized people but they welcomed him with a kindness he was unable to find anywhere else so he stayed there using his power to create metal tools for them. Thanks to his tools the village began to prosper and grow in ways the natives had never imagined and Devin found a safe environment to grow up in despite his hardships.

By the time Devin was grown his village had become as modern and successful as any other and he was preparing to go out in to the world when a village elder and former guardian of his gave Devin some advice “the world is a very large place, to strive to change it entirely is to undertake an impossible task, instead why not make life for yourself and those you care for comfortable and safe as you have done here? This, my son is to live a purposeful life, when you find that purpose you will know what you want to protect, until then you should protect yourself”

Being a man of exceptional powers Devin hoped he could find his way in the world but quickly fell on hard times having to fight off criminals and work harder than he ever had in his life to get by, it was then that he found his abilities were not always looked upon favorably. It was not long until Devin found a man as even more unique then he was, a masked man known only as Thespian came to him claiming to be looking for exceptional people with whom he could acquire status and wealth with and, being an exceptional man with no wealth and status what so ever Devin accepted the offer and was the first to join Thespian’s group of mercenaries deciding on the name Kesu for their group. Since then Devin has been performing odd jobs for Kesu’s clientele hunting down rare and unobtainable things. He acquired his nickname “the cicada” from his metal shell technique and his ability to attack from underground.

Personality: Devin tries to keep a collected, stoic attitude about himself when he’s working and presents a simple driven attitude toward his endeavors. His clear cut, determined attitude borders on stubbornness and brashness at times concealing a considerable intellect and creativity which he applies to his job. Devin seems to value finesse and professionalism as well as honor and common courtesy but will not hesitate to address a threat. Devin tends to keep to himself when he has a task at hand and is very outgoing when he’s free. Despite taking pleasure in the simple things in life Devin takes a lot of pride in his job even though he seems to dislike its general message preferring to take missions that are based in locating things rather than killing individuals. Devin works best with ideas fist and people second and is a staunch realist with a very strong sense of justice and a distaste for overzealous or corrupt people in high positions.

Despite his past Devin remains friendly and down to earth having made his peace with the events of his childhood perverting not to discuss it with or inform others about it. Devin is something of a self made man who believes in his own power and means well most of the time and his level of outgoingness and willingness to befriend others varies widely on weather or not he’s on a mission and his mood but all around he‘s a reasonable person who will try to consider things clearly before acting. Devin is responsive and a very quick thinker who possesses a certain level of resourcefulness and ingenuity.

effect: Allows the user the ability to project manipulate and produce metal as well as immunity to metal based attacks, vulnerable to electrical attacks but renders the users body as hard as steel.

Special Abilities:
-Artistic talent; Able to sketch very detailed drawings of any person place or thing with a description or reference quickly and correctly, his talent exceeds most navy criminal sketch artists easily
-Photographic memory; able to memorize and keep track of large amounts of complicated information easily
-Honed combat reflexes; able to spot and track details and make decisions, creative ideas and plans at very quick speeds so much so that he appears to be improving
-Weapons proficiency; able to use most any weapon expertly provided that they are weapons he crafted with his tetsu tetsu no mi abilities
-Background knowledge; well versed in worldly and abstract subjects as well as basic sciences and book knowledge

Learned Techniques: usually he makes up techniques on the spot but notable special moves include
-Tetsu no “Yoroi kokkaku”(Armor skeleton or “shell”); a simple technique in which Devin creates a skin like layer of steel around his body for defensive purposes using his ability to maintain his movement and give the shell various joints like an exoskeleton suit of armor detaching sections once they are damaged and jumping out of the shell to avoid larger attacks while the empty shell is hit
-Tetsu no “Ken no ame” (rain of swords); sending a projectile of metal attacked to a wire then pulling the wire the user can call countless swords down to the earth as an attack and for use as weapons, these are always one type of sword for simplicity
-Tetsu no “Chikurin” (Iron bamboo grove); a technique in which the user sends chains in to the ground with their feet before calling up a field of spikes from the ground to surprise enemies, the end result is a field of cylindrical spires that resemble a bamboo field.
-Tetsu no “Senko” (Burrowing); using drills made form the tetsu tetsu no mi the user can move though solid earth at unparalleled speeds to attack from below or escape opponents, with training maneuvering and tunneling becomes easy
-Tetsu no “Eikyo” (Iron Impact); creating a cylinder of metal along the arm after the elbow the user throws a punch so that the spire is launched forward just before impact resulting in an immensely powerful punch capable of demolishing rocks and breaking though walls easily.
-Tetsu no “Kyojin no senso tsuchi” (War hammer of the giant); a simplistic but effective technique in which the user creates a hammer roughly the size of a ship letting it fall on the target in one gigantic swing, this takes some time to form but can easily crush a target if given enough time.
-Tetsu no “Wire spin”; a defensive technique in which the user lets out hundreds of razor sharp wires and spins them around their body at the highest possible speed collectively cutting anything near and stopping oncoming attacks

Weapons/Items: unarmed in the sense that he carries no weapons on him nor does he carry any items of any unusual variety or notable important use part from an ordinary pencil and paper.

Goals: Though he currently doesn’t have any goals to speak of he is open to finding his niche in life.
